Mercier Moves All In

Level 11 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Jason Mercier (Day 1)
Jason Mercier (Day 1)

Jason Mercier raised to 4,800 in the hijack seat, Justin Bonomo flicked out a call from the big blind and the two took a flop of {j-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{8-Spades}. Bonomo checked, Mercier continued for 5,300 and Bonomo check-raised to 16,000.

Mercier silently committed an entire stack of pink T5,000 chips, moving all in and Bonomo folded.

Gross vs. Hyman

Level 11 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

A preflop raising way resulted in Matt Hyman getting his stack of approximately 70,000 all in preflop against Jeff Gross.

Gross: {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Hyman: {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

Hyman was on the good end of the pair-versus-pair battle, and there would be no tomfoolery as the board ran out a clean {q-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{7-Spades}{q-Clubs}. Ship the double to Hyman.

Jaka Gets There

Level 11 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Action folded to Nick Schulman on the button and he opened for 5,000. Faraz Jaka responded by shoving all in for 42,800 from the small blind and Schulman made the call after the big blind folded.

Jaka: {j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Schulman: {a-Hearts}{7-Clubs}

Schulman was ahead, but Jaka managed to take the lead on the {k-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} flop. Neither the {3-Spades} turn nor {9-Hearts} river helped Schulman, and he sent some chips over to Jaka.

Busquet Binks Two Doubles

Level 11 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Not long ago Olivier Busquet was sitting on a short stack, but now he has plenty of chips to work with thanks to two doubles.

In the first, Busquet got his stack of 32,000 or so all in preflop holding the {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} against the {a-}{q-} of David Vamplew. The {3-Spades}{10-Hearts}{a-Hearts} flop gave Vamplew the lead, and the {2-Spades} turn meant Busquet needed a jack and a jack only to stay alive. Wouldn't you know it, the {J-Spades} spiked on the river.

Not long after, Busquet got his stack in on a {7-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} flop against Brian Rast. Busquet held the {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for a flush draw, while Rast had the {7-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} for a pair of sevens. The {J-Diamonds} turn gave Busquet a flush, and after the {4-Hearts} was put out on the river he was pushed the pot.

Bonomo's Gonna Need a Bigger Boat

Level 11 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

When we arrived at Table 359, we saw Fabrice Touil had 14,400 out in front of him from the small blind and was facing a raise - which looked like a five-bet - to 34,000 from Justin Bonomo in the big. Touil thought long and hard before making the call. Both players ended up checking the {5-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{j-Spades} flop.

When the {10-Spades} appeared on the turn, Touil led out for a hefty 50,400 and Bonomo made the call. The {10-Diamonds} river saw both players return to checking and Touil threw up his hands as if to suggest the river card screwed him over. Indeed, his full house on the turn with the {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} was no longer good as Bonomo made a bigger boat with the {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}.

Chop Suey

Level 11 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Ami Barer was all in and at risk with {4-Hearts}{4-Spades} when we arrived at Table 349, where Brian Green had him crushed with {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}.

The {9-Hearts}{6-Spades}{9-Spades} flop didn't change much, but the {6-Clubs} on the turn gave Barer two outs to chop along with his two outs to win the hand.

The river brought the {6-Diamonds}, giving both players sixes full of nines. Barer and Green chopped the pot.

Hellmuth Takes Two Against Selbst

Level 11 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Vanessa Selbst raised to 5,500 on the button, Phil Hellmuth called from the big blind and the flop fell {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{3-Diamonds}.

Hellmuth check-called 6,200 from Selbst, the {5-Hearts} turned and both players checked. The {Q-Diamonds} river completed the board and both players checked again. Hellmuth tabled {Q-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for trips, Selbst mucked and Hellmuth collected the pot.

The following hand, Selbst raised from the cutoff and Hellmuth defended his small blind. The flop came down {Q-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts} and Hellmuth check-called 7,200 from Selbst to see the {K-Diamonds} turn. Both checked, the {10-Diamonds} river fell and Hellmuth bet 9,000. Selbst folded, giving Hellmuth the pot.

Hyman Folds on the Flop

Level 11 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Richard Lyndaker, Matt Hyman and Stephen Chidwick took a flop of {a-Spades}{5-Spades}{9-Clubs}. Hyman and Chidwick both checked, Lyndaker tossed out 7,000 into a pot of around 17,000 and Hyman check-raised to 17,000. Chidwick quickly got out of the way and Hyman grabbed a tall stack of pink T5,000 chips.

He set them down in front of him, putting Hyman all in and tank-folding, flashing the {a-Clubs}.

Chidwick Four-Bet Jams Into Gross

Level 11 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

After Stephen Chidwick opened with a raise from the cutoff, Jeff Gross three-bet him from the button. Both blinds folded and Chidwick responded by four-betting all in. Gross snap-called off and Chidwick discovered the bad news.

Chidwick: {a-}{3-}
Gross: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

Gross had the superior ace and was rewarded for it after the board ran out a safe {2-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{7-Spades}{5-Diamonds}.

McCormick Done in by Schwartz

Level 11 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

"Good luck everybody," we heard Tom McCormick tell Table 355 as he collected his things.

We arrived at the table to see the {6-Clubs}{7-Spades} laid out in front of McCormick on a {2-Spades}{5-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} board. We're not sure when his short stack went in, but we do know that he was eliminated as Noah Schwartz held the {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}.
