Pescatori Back Up, Arieh Falls Down

Level 17

Razz

Josh Arieh just bet on fifth street after Max Pescatori had checked and the former made the call. On sixth street Pescatori's board improved and he bet, Arieh called. Seventh was dealt and both players checked quickly.

Arieh: {X-}{X-} / {4-}{A-}{10-}{K-} / {X-}
Pescatori: {X-}{X-} / {A-}{8-}{Q-}{7-} / {X-}

Rodawig Busts

Level 17

Stud

Eric Rodawig has just been eliminated by Scott Bohlman.

It appeared as though Rodawig was all in on third street, and when all the cards were out, Rodawig was unable to beat Bohlman's pair of fives.

Zaichenko to the Rail

Level 17

Stud

Andrey Zaichenko just completed and Bill Chen swiftly raised it up behind him. The other players folded and Chen proceeded bet on all following streets. Zaichenko called his opponent down before ultimately folding on the river.

Zaichenko: {X-}{X-} / {K-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{10-Spades}{2-Diamonds} / {X-}
Chen: {X-}{X-} / {5-Spades}{J-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{3-Hearts} / {X-}

Chen raked in this pot and Zaichenko was left with 44,000 chips. A few hands later, as we were writing this update we saw Zaichenko walk out of the tournament area and that means we're down to 40 players.

Sklar with Another Chance To Freeroll Ivey

Level 17
Richard Sklar
Richard Sklar

Although Phil Ivey is out of this event and has already lost the $10,000 buy-in, he can still lose more money in the tournament if Richard Sklar was to make the final table. Ivey laid Sklar 4-1 on $15,000 in a must-final-table last-longer bet, upping the odds from the 3-1 he gave Sklar in a previous event.

With 130,000 in chips and 41 players left, just 33 players stand between Sklar and additional $60,000 from the man himself, Phil Ivey.

Ninety-Eight for Hang

Level 17

Razz

Madsen: {x-}{x-} / {8-}{j-}{a-}{5-} / {x-}
Hang: {x-}{x-} / {6-}{4-}{K-}{Q-} / {x-}

Picking up with the action on fourth street, Tommy Hang cut out a bet and found a call from Jeff Madsen. Both players checked fifth street and Madsen took the lead with a bet on sixth. Hang called and both players peered at their seventh street cards.

Madsen cut out one final bet and Hang went deep into the tank. Eventually, he dropped out a call and Madsen sighed while rolling over {A-}{j-}{2-}. Hang responded by tabling a winning {9-}{8-}{a-} for a ninety-eight. Hang raked in the chips and his stack now sits right around 120,000.

Huge Scoop for Cozen

Level 17

Omaha-8

On a flop of {4-Spades}{6-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} we found four players putting in two bets each before the turn of the {K-Spades} saw Kassela lead for 10,000 with Kevin Iacofano, Pat Pezzin and Glenn Cozen all calling.

The river landed the {10-Clubs} and the action was checked round.

"Two pair!" announced Cozen tabling his {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{4-Hearts} while Pezzin flashed his {A-Spades}{2-Spades}{K-Hearts}{7-Clubs} and folded as Kassela and Iacofano tossed their hand to the muck.

Cozen is now up to 215,000 in chips.

Ladies for Negreanu

Level 17

Limit Hold'em

We found Justin Bonomo and Daniel Negreanu looking down at a flop of {9-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}. Bonomo came out with a bet and Negreanu quickly raised it up. Bonomo called and the {6-Clubs} dropped down on the turn. Bonomo checked to the raiser and Negreanu fired out another bet. Bonomo called to see the river.

Fifth street was the {9-Clubs} and Bonomo checked. Negreanu bet one last time and Bonomo went deep into the tank. Ultimately, he tossed out a call and Negreanu rolled over {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}. Bonomo mucked his hand and Kid Poker was pushed the pot. He's now sitting on about 160,000 while Bonomo has dropped to 130,000.
