Brunson Doubles Again, Shatters Kings

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

A very active Chino Rheem made it 22,000 and Todd Brunson potted. Rheem re-potted and they got it all in before the flop with Brunson holding {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts} to Rheem's {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}.

It looked bad for Brunson, but he started picking up outs as the {5-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} flop rolled out. The {q-Diamonds} turn didn't help, but the {j-Spades} river sure did, making him a king-cracking broadway straight and doubling him back into contention.

Brenes Doubles Through Seiver

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Alexander Venovski raised to 20,000 on the button, and Scott Seiver called. Humberto Brenes moved all in out of the big blind. Venovski folded, and Seiver made the call.

Seiver: {k-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Brenes: {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}

Seiver's outlook got even grimmer on the {a-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} flop, though the {q-Spades} turn provided a sweat. A {4-Diamonds} river meant the affable Costa Rican doubled up.

Brunson Doubles, Seidel Shatters Image

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

After a 20,000 open from Ismael Bojang and a raise to 55,000 from Eric Seidel, Todd Brunson pushed all in for 87,000.

Bojang released, but Seidel was priced in, making the call with {j-Spades}{2-Hearts} and ruining what was otherwise a respectable image at the table.

Brunson had {9-Spades}{9-Hearts} and it held on an {8-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{8-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{10-Hearts} board.

John Juanda Eliminated in 15th Place ($25,327)

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante
John Juanda - 15th Place
John Juanda - 15th Place

Alex Bilokur raised from the cutoff, and John Juanda potted from the small blind. Bilokur put him all in, and Juanda called off his last few thousand.

Bilokur: {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Juanda: {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

"YES!" Juana yelled, mimicking the running joke throughout the tournament of excessive celebration.

It didn't bring good luck, as the flop came {3-Spades}{10-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}. The {6-Clubs} and {2-Diamonds} didn't fill the straight Juanda needed.

"That's why it's important not to get in flips with Alex," Scott Seiver advised.

Don Nguyen Eliminated in 16th Place ($21,341)

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante
Don Nguyen
Don Nguyen

Don Nguyen and Ismael Bojang started one fateful hand about even in chips and when Nguyen bet 55,000 into around 60,000 on the {9-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop, Bojang potted. They ended up all in after doing the math and it was {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs} for Bojang against Nguyen's {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}.

The {3-Diamonds} turn kept ace-high in the lead, but the {9-Clubs} river made Bojang a flush and one-time chip boss Nguyen was relegated to the rail.

Venovski Doubles

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Pratyush Buddiga and Alexander Venovski ended up in a preflop raising war that saw Venovski get it all in for his tournament life with {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}.

Buddiga had just {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds} and when he missed the {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}{k-Spades}{7-Clubs}{4-Spades} board, Venovski doubled and Buddiga was left relatively short.

Dani Stern Eliminated in 17th Place ($21,341)

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante
Dani Stern 17th.
Dani Stern 17th.

Chino Rheem made it 23,000 and Dani Stern potted it to 74,000 with 68,000 behind. Rheem responded by putting him all in and Stern made the call with {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}.

Rheem held {a-Hearts}{q-Spades} and although he missed the {6-Spades}{2-Clubs}{k-Hearts} flop, the {a-Diamonds} turn put him ahead and the {q-Diamonds} river put Stern away.
