Joseph Cheong open-shoved all in from early position for 12,600, Zachary Gruneberg also moved all in over the top from the cutoff, and everyone else folded. Cheong was at risk, but ahead with the versus the of Gruneberg.
The action folded around to James Mackey in the small blind who called, and Kyle Zartman checked his option in the big blind. The flop was and Mackey checked. Zartman bet 1,100 and Mackey called. The turn was the and again Mackey checked. Zartman bet 2,500 and Mackey called.
The river was the and Mackey check-called a bet of 6,500 from Zartman, but mucked when Zartman turned over for two pair.
When Barny Boatman counted his stack at the start of play he found he was 10,000 chips down on what he thought had. He wondered if some chips had been left on the table last night but the floor said it was unlikely. There was a brief moment when he wondered if he had opened the wrong bag as the player to his left had a similar stack size but that also wasn't the case. In the end Boatman thought that he must have just miscounted his stack at the end of play last night which was a very unusual occurrence for him.
At least Boatman has a good view of the England World Cup football game. Govert Metaal said, “One, one.” believing England had equalized and Boatman jumped from his seat.. They hadn't and Boatman sat down again. “Don’t do that to me.” Boatman chided.
The action folded around to Sean Dempsey in the cutoff and he set the price to play at 2,200. Zachary Korik called from the button and when both blinds folded, the dealer put the flop onto the felt.
Dempsey continued with a 3,200 bet and Korik called. Both players checked the turn, but Dempsey bet 4,300 when the completed the board and won the pot when Korik folded.
Shane Goodwillie was first to act in late position and he raised to 2,200 only to see Elior "Crazy Elior" Sion three-bet from the next seat along, making it 4,800 to play. The action passed back around to Goodwillie and he called.
Goodwillie then checked the flop, Sion bet 3,700, and Goodwillie let his hand go.
Sion is a high-stakes cash game regular who has been seen mixing it up in some of the biggest games online poker has to offer and certainly knows his way around the poker table. It should be fun to watch his trademark aggression throughout proceedings today.
