Chen Sends Ethier to the Rail

Level 17

2-7 Triple Draw

Denis Ethier check-raised after the first draw out of the small blind against Bill Chen on the button.

"How much do you have left?" Chen asked. "About 1,700? Alright let's get the rest in."

Chen drew one, then patted the last draw as Ethier patted both draws. Chen showed {7-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{2-} and took the pot.

Chen Busts Brobst

Bill Chen (Day 1)

2-7 Triple Draw

We picked up with the action on the first draw to see a substantial pot already built. Bill Chen took two cards at the draw and Robert Brobst opted for just one. Chen led out post-draw and Brobst moved all in for 7,100 total. Chen called then announced he was breaking what he made and was taking one. Brobst stood pat. Chen looked at his card and said that he was pat for the final draw. Brobst tapped the table as well and the hands were rolled over.

Chen tabled {8-}{7-}{5-}{3-}{2-} for an eighty-seven and Brobst slammed his {9-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-} on the felt for the second best hand. Chen scored the elimination and now has about 90,000 in chips.

Chen Scoops a Badeucey Pot

Level 16

Badeucey

Bill Chen bet the end after a lone opponent checked to him in a pot that had been heads up the whole way. Chen's opponent agonized for 30 seconds or so before making the call.

"Nine-nine," Chen said, spreading {9-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{7-Clubs}. His opponent stared at his own hand for a few seconds before mucking.

Ho Can't Beat Morris

Level 16

Pot-Limit Omaha

Maria Ho, in a blind battle, checked and called a bet from Arthur Morris on a {3-Spades}{2-Clubs}{j-Hearts} flop. On the {q-Diamonds} turn, Morris fired 12,000 when checked to, and Ho called. Ho then check-called 32,000 on the {j-Diamonds} river, and Morris showed {j-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} for jacks full.

"Nice run out," Ho said.

Harman Busts Brunson

Badacey

Todd Brunson got the last of his chips in after the second draw against Jen Harman.

Brunson had {a-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{4-}{2-Clubs}, and Harman turned over {a-Spades}{4-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} for a badugi, but she had a pair of sixes for low after she caught {6-Clubs}. Unfortunately for Brunson, he turned over the {7-Diamonds}, giving him a higher pair.

Frank Kassela said it may have been the case seven, as he folded one.
