Every Which Way But Loose

Level 5 : 100/200, 0 ante
Allen Kessler
Allen Kessler

With more than double the starting stack already, Allen Kessler appeared to be loosening up just a little.

He checked his option in the big blind when the little blind limped. But when the limper checked the {k-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{6-Hearts} flop, Kessler min-bet and took it down.

A couple hands later he folded the button and all was right with the world again.

Mortensen Treads Water

Level 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

2001 WSOP Main Event champion Carlos Mortensen made it 450 from early position and got one caller. He fired again, making it 700 on the {q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop, but couldn shake his foe.

On the {j-Spades} turn they both checked, but when Mortensen sent out a bet of 1,000 chips on the {10-Spades} river, his opponent raise it to 2,400 total. Mortensen called with {k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} and his opponent had a very similar looking {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}.

Niner Digs In

Level 5 : 100/200, 0 ante

November Niner Marc-Etienne McLaughlin has a decent sized stack, but had to get away from a hand moments ago.

He bet 1,200 into the {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{3-Hearts} board on the turn and got a call from his heads-up opponent. However, when the {k-Hearts} came on the river and he checked, that opponent bet out 1,100.

McLaughlin did the heart check, but came up folding.
