Tepper Triples Up

Level 4 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

We found Robert Tepper shoving over a raise from Kyle Frey under the gun, and Paul Evans jammed from the small blind for a bit more than the 19,000 Tepper had. Frey called.

Frey: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Tepper: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}
Evans: {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}

The {5-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{8-Hearts} kept the two pairs of kings in front while also giving Frey a freeroll against Evans. The {a-Hearts} turned, meaning Tepper now had the lead with aces while Frey had a draw to a flush that would scoop him the pot. A {2-Spades} hit the river, tripling Tepper up.

Wolpert Outdrawn, Busted

Level 4 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Leo Wolpert bet 3,400 from the button after Douglas Foster checked to him out of the big blind on a {q-Spades}{7-Spades}{10-Hearts}. Foster check-raised 10,000, and Wolpert made the call. On the {8-Clubs} turn, Foster fired 21,000, leaving himself about 15,000 behind. Wolpert pushed all in and was quickly called. He confidently flipped {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}, and it was ahead of Foster's {10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}. The river wasn't kind to Wolpert though: {j-Diamonds}, giving Foster a straight.

"How much?" Wolpert said with a shake of his head.

He ended up shipping all but about 1,500 across the table, and we saw him collecting his payout ticket a short time later.
