Set Over Set Exit For Shlez

Level 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Vadim Shlez just exited the tournament in extremely unfortunate circumstances after he lost set over set against Luke Graham.

Both Graham and Shlez were all in, and the board read {9-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}, and it was Graham who had the pot moved towards him.

Luke Graham: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Vadim Shlez: {9-}{9-}

Both players had flopped a set with their pocket pairs, but it was Graham who had the top set with pocket queens and had Shlez covered to win a huge pot and send his opponent to the payout desk in the process.

Ryan D’Angelo
Ryan D’Angelo

The board read {9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{k-Clubs} when Ryan D'Angelo moved all in for 135,000. There was already 100,000 in the pot before D'Angelo's shove and current chip leader Mark Radoja was the man who faced the decision.

He counted out his orange 5k chips several times and thought for nearly four minutes before calling the clock on himself.

'I like my stack' said Radoja.

He asked for a 10-second countdown and by the time the number five was announced he made the call.

Ryan D'Angelo: {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Mark Radoja: {10-Spades}{8-Spades}

Bracelet winner D'Angelo was ahead with top pair against two-time bracelet winner Radoja and swooped the pot to double up.

Huge Pot for Schwartz

Level 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Jake Schwartz
Jake Schwartz

Jake Schwartz, on the button, limped and it was called by Kenneth Smaron in small blind. Martin Jacobson, in big blind, raised it to 7,200 and both players called.

They all checked on the {7-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} but the {3-Diamonds} brought more action. Smaron checked once more and Jacobson bet 1,600 after some thought. Both Schwartz and Smaron called.

The river was a {a-Diamonds} and the three players checked. Smaron showed {k-Spades}{q-Spades} for a pair of kings but was facing {a-Spades}{3-Spades} in Schwartz' hand for a better pair. Jacobson mucked his hand and the pot went to Schwartz.
