Calvin Anderson
Calvin Anderson

No-Limit Hold'em

After choosing the game, Daniel Negreanu opened with a button raise before Calvin Anderson was all in from the small blind for a little over 11,000.

Negreanu made the call holding {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} and was up against Anderson's {A-}{K-}.

The flop brought a king for Anderson, but when Negreanu made a backdoor flush, Anderson would be eliminated.

Negreanu Finds a Chop Against Anderson

Level 11 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Badeucey

From the small blind, Daniel Negreanu raised to 8,000 before Calvin Anderson pushed in his last 11,700, and Negreanu called.

Negreanu drew two, and Anderson drew one. On the second draw, Negreanu drew one and Anderson stood pat.

On the final draw, Negreanu drew one and Anderson stood pat.

Anderson: {8-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts}
Negreanu: {7-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Spades}

Negreanu found the {K-Diamonds} to make a badugi, and the pot was chopped.

Obst and Gronning Stay Alive

Level 11 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Omaha Hi-Lo

James Obst was all in for the main pot, while Lars Gronning was all in for the side pot as David Baker had both players covered.

Obst: {8-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}
Gronning: {A-Spades}{J-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{3-Spades}
Baker: {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}

They had gone all in on the flop of {2-Spades}{K-Hearts}{8-Hearts}, and when the turn and river brought the {A-Hearts} and {7-Clubs}, Gronning would quarter Baker for the side pot while Obst and Gronning chopped the main.

Gorodinsky Eliminates Yu

Level 11 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Big O

The board read {7-Spades}{9-Hearts}{9-Spades}{a-Spades} and both small blind Dylan Linde and Mike Gorodinsky checked, with Ben Yu sitting between them and all in already. The river was a {4-Hearts} and Linde check-folded to 15,000.

Yu showed {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} and got up, clearly expecting to be eliminated. That's exactly what happened as Gorodinsky held {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}{5-Spades}{4-Spades}{3-Hearts} for a flush and a low.

"Gordo is my hero," Mike Matusow said. "Make sure you get that down. Everyone needs a hero in poker and he's been mine for like seven years."

Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth

Pot-Limit Omaha

From the button, David Baker raised to 5,100 and Phil Hellmuth called in the small blind.

Both players checked down the {K-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{7-Spades}{2-Clubs} board to the river where Hellmuth tossed in 4,000 and Baker called.

Hellmuth tabled his {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{6-Spades} for a set of sixes, and Baker mucked.

Adam Friedman
Adam Friedman

Badugi

Heading into the second draw, Adam Friedman in the big blind and Randy Ohel in the cutoff had built a pot of about 50,000. Friedman patted and Ohel took a card. Friedman bet and Ohel tanked about a minute and called. Friedman patted again and Ohel took a final card and called a bet.

Friedman opened {7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{3-Spades}{a-Clubs} to win the pot. Last night's second-place chip stack is even bigger here in the early going.
