Big Huni Sends One to the Rail

Level 5 : 100/300, 300 ante

Chris Hunichen was down to just over 8,000 chips earlier in the day, but he's recovering nicely and just recently eliminated a player to move back over 40,000.

In the hand, the player opened from early position with a raise to 800. Hunichen was in middle position and he three-bet, making it 2,000. Action folded back to the player who called.

The flop was {7-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and action checked to Hunichen who bet 2,200. His opponent moved all in and Hunichen quickly called the shove for 11,800.

Chris Hunichen: {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}
Opponent: {Q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

The turn was the {A-Diamonds}, which was one of the outs that Hunichen needed, and the river was the {J-Diamonds}, keeping him in the lead. He took down the pot and that allowed him to move over 40,000 chips.

No Messing with Peters

Level 5 : 100/300, 300 ante

David Peters raised in the cutoff and Galen Hall made it 1,900 on the button. The blinds went out of the way and action returned to Peters who threw in all of his chips, covering Hall's remaining 11,500.

Hall quickly laid his hand down and let Peters win this heavyweight bout.

Kornuth Gets Shoved On

Level 5 : 100/300, 300 ante

With a board of {K-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}, Chance Kornuth was facing off against one other player in the small blind. The player in the small blind made a bet into a pot of 8,000 before Kornuth raised, making it 7,300.

The small-blind player tanked for about 30 seconds before moving all in, and Kornuth thought very briefly before folding.

"Show the deuce!" someone at the table said. The small blind had already tossed his cards towards the dealer, but pulled them back, looked at one, and showed the {10-Diamonds}.

Kornuth was left with just 15,800 chips after the hand.

Foxen's Downfall Completed

Level 5 : 100/300, 300 ante

Alex Foxen lost a huge hand just before the break and his tournament would be over shortly after the players returned.

Foxen was seen on the river of a {2-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{9-Hearts}{A-Hearts} board with over 20,000 in the pot. He was in the hijack, checking to his opponent in the cutoff who moved all in for 17,500, covering Foxen's remaining 15,300.

Foxen leaned back in his chair to look at his opponent across the dealer. "Dynamic river card," Foxen said, smelling a bluff.

He took another one minute or so to figure out whether to pull off the call or not, and then gave it a green light, grabbing his chips and putting them into the middle.

Unfortunately for Foxen, his opponent showed {A-Spades}{K-Clubs} for top two and Foxed revealed his {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} before heading for the exit.

Seidel Takes a Big Pot off Foxen Just Before Break

Level 5 : 100/300, 300 ante
Alex Foxen
Alex Foxen

Just before the break, Erik Seidel and Alex Foxen were involved in a big pot that lasted five minutes into the break.

There was already 23,000 in the middle with the board showing {9-Spades}{8-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and action was on Seidel who checked over to Foxen. Foxen was on the button and he put out a bet of 16,800, leaving himself with about 13,000 behind. Seidel dropped into the tank and thought for several minutes before eventually deciding to call.

Foxen turned up his {10-Spades}{6-Spades} for a missed gutshot straight draw, and Seidel quickly showed his {J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} and stacked up the big pot, putting him over 70,000 before heading off to break.

Jared Jaffee Doubles Up

Level 4 : 100/200, 200 ante

Catching the action on a board of {8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{A-Spades}{A-Clubs}, action was on Jared Jaffee who was in the cutoff. He moved all in for 11,000 into a pot of roughly 12,000 and that put his one opponent, who was on the button, into the tank. He thought for at least a minute before calling, but mucked with Jaffee showed {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for a rivered flush. That allowed Jaffee to take down the pot and nearly double up.
