Kessler Doubles Up Twice

Level 7 : 200/400, 50 ante

The player in early position raised to 800 and next to act was Allen Kessler who looked at his cards and then decided to shove. Mike Leah was on Kessler's left and he counted out his T$25 chips and some extra chips and decided to raise. Action folded back to the initial raiser who asked for a count. Leah said it was 2,800 and when the dealer counted it out, he confirmed Leah was correct. The initial raiser folded.

Allen Kessler: {k-Clubs}{2-Clubs}
Mike Leah: {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}

"I have live cards!" Kessler said.

The flop came {7-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} to give Kessler a pair of deuces, but Leah was still ahead with his pocket pair of eights.

"Now you have two extra live cards," Leah said with a smile.

The {7-Diamonds} on the turn didn't help Kessler in any way, but the {2-Hearts} on the river gave Kessler the better hand he needed to double up.

In the hand right after that, the same initial raiser raised again to 800 but now from the under-the-gun position. Kessler looked at his cards and his own stack.

"Alright." Kessler said while pushing his stack forward to announce all in. Everyone folded back to the under-the-gun player who called immediately.

Allen Kessler: {A-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Under-the-gun player: {K-Clubs}{J-Hearts}

The board ran out {q-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{4-Spades} to give Kessler another double-up.
