Palacios Doubles Through Freedman

Level 21 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Marco Palacios just informed the PokerNews Live Reporting team that he had recently doubled.

The hand began with Palacios tossing out a single green chip and announcing an opening raise to 25,000 from under the gun with {J-}{J-}. Wendy Freedman was on the button, didn't notice the open, and threw out 21,000, which bound her to call.

The flop came {J-}{4-}{2-} and both players checked.

The turn was an {A-}, Palacios bet 50,000, and Freedman called.

A {Q-} fell on the river and Palacios jammed for 225,000. Freedman called with a covering stack and tabled {A-}{Q-} for top two pair only to see Palacios table his flopped set to take the pot for a full double-up.

Kvisthammar Eliminates Bates

Level 21 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Peter Kvisthammar raised to 24,000 and Clayton Bates moved all in for his last 45,000. It folded back to Kvisthammar who called turning over {a-Spades}{k-Clubs} and he was dominating the {a-Hearts}{4-Clubs} of Bates.

Kvisthammar improved to trip kings on the {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} runout and Bates was eliminated.

Wheeler Eliminated

Level 21 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Joshua Gordon on the button opened to 23,000 and Jason Wheeler in the big blind moved all in. Gordon called and both players tabled their cards.

With {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs}, Wheeler was in bad shape to survive, facing {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} in Gordon's hand. There was a six on the flop to help Wheeler, but the turn was a king and the river a four, and with no further improvement Wheeler made his way to the exit.

Brendan Baksh raised to 22,000 and Sonny Franco reraised to 65,000. Aaron Messmer made it 200,000 and Baksh called. They went heads up to the {q-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop and Baksh led out with a bet of 200,000.

Messmer moved all in covering Baksh who had 240,000 and Baksh quickly folded.

Tran Wins a Big Pot

Level 21 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Jason Daly opened under the gun and JC Tran defended his small blind.

The flop fell {7-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{3-Hearts} and Tran check-called Daly's continuation bet for 28,000. Things then became heated after the {4-Clubs} turn.

Tran bet 38,000 and Daly, after a short tank, three-bet to 162,000. After some thought, Tran four-bet all in and Daly quickly folded his hand.

Tran has now climbed up to 605,000.

Baumstein Doubles Through Lee

Level 21 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Scott Baumstein
Scott Baumstein

Stanley Lee raised from under the gun and Scott Baumstein moved all in for 251,000 next to act. It folded back to Lee who called turning over {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} and Baumstein showed {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}.

The {10-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop was no help to Baumstein but the {q-Spades} hit the turn, enabling Baumstein to pair his queen and take the lead. The {2-Diamonds} completed the board, and Baumstein survived.

Bansal Keeps Building

Level 21 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Edward Oconnell on the button pushed his last chips in the middle for around 75,000 and Raghav Bansal in the big blind made the call.

Edward Oconnell: {a-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}
Raghav Bansal: {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}

Oconnell was in bad shape to survive. The board came {4-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{6-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{7-Spades} to give Bansal the better pair, and Oconnell is out. Bansal now has a comfortable stack of 670,000.
