An Unlikely Chop Pot

Level 6 : 300/600, 0 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

Shaun Deeb opened with a raise before the pot and he was called by the player on the button and the Schuyler Thornton in the big blind.

The flop was {K-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and Thornton checked to Deeb who put out a bet of 600. The button called while Thornton folded.

The turn was the {10-Clubs} and Deeb led again, putting out 1,600. The button called once more.

On the {7-Spades} river, Deeb shoved all in for about 6,000 effective. The button snap called and revealed his {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} but Deeb showed his {K-Hearts}{10-Spades} and the two chopped the pot.

Upon seeing the hands the table got a bit excited, laughing and exchanging a few calls of "no way!" as apparently just before this, the dealer had dealt another chop to two players with the same hand, also in no-limit hold'em.

Kessler Eliminates a Player

Level 6 : 300/600, 0 ante

Seven Card Stud

The player with the {k-Clubs} completed and the {4-Spades} raised. Allen Kessler made it three bets and both players called. On third street it checked to Kessler who bet, one player called and another raised. Kessler made it three bets and got two calls, with the second player now all in.

The remaining two players checked fifth street, and Kessler called bets on sixth and seventh street.

Player 1: {x-}{x-}/{k-Clubs}{q-Spades}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}/{x-}
Player 2: {x-}{x-}/{4-Spades}{9-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}/{x-}
Allen Kessler: {x-}{x-}/{3-Spades}{5-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}/{x-}

Kessler showed {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for two pair, aces and fives. Player 1 mucked a {k-Hearts}, with the other player mucking {7-Hearts}{4-Clubs} for a worse two pair as he was eliminated.

"I started {a-}{3-}{5-}," said Kessler. "Only joking, I had Aces."

Perry Friedman
Perry Friedman

No-Limit Hold'em

There was a raise to 425 and a three-bet to 1,200 from the button before Perry Friedman called from the big blind.

"Only 425 behind," Friedman said. "Maybe I can get someone to fold."

The flop was {6-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} and Friedman moved all in for the 425. The original raiser folded while the other player in the hand called.

Perry Friedman: {A-Clubs}{6-Clubs}
Opponent: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}

Friedman flopped a pair but it wasn't enough as his opponent had an overpair.

"Ace me!" Friedman said to the dealer.

The turn was the {3-Hearts} though and the river was the {8-Clubs} and that would be it for Friedman. He was unable to improve and sent to the rail.

Ben Ponzio: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}
Brian Hastings: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

The flop came {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} giving Hastings a set of queens. Ponzio called for a jack, but the turn came the {4-Hearts}. Pot-Limit Omaha

Action was on the flop in a multi-way pot. The flop was {Q-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Clubs} and action checked over to Jeff Madsen. He put out a bet of 1,350. Ian O'Hara folded before the player in the cutoff moved all in for 1,950 total. The player in the big blind then called the shove and Madsen called behind creating a main pot and heads-up action on the side.

The turn was the {7-Hearts} which prompted checks from the big blind and Madsen.

On the {4-Diamonds} river the big blind announced a bet of pot, which was 7,100. Madsen snap-called. The big blind showed {J-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} for a turned straight but Madsen had {A-Hearts}{3-Spades}{4-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} for a rivered full house. The cutoff player mucked his hand and Madsen was able to collect the whole pot, chipping up to over 50,000 chips.

Pot Limit Omaha

After a raise from under the gun to 300 and a call from the player in the cutoff, Eric Kurtzman made it 1,200 from the button. Both players called to take a flop.

On the {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop, all three players checked and the {7-Diamonds} rolled off on the turn. There, action checked to Kurtzman who put out a bet of 2,000. Only the player in the cutoff called.

The river was the {3-Hearts} and action checked over to Kurtzman again. He put out a bet of 4,000 and after about a minute in the tank his opponent folded, so Kurtzman took down the pot to move him right around 40,000 chips.
