Alexander Busts Owen

Level 11 : 1,500/3,000, 700 ante

James Alexander started the day as the shortest stack, coming into play with just 15,000. That is no longer the case.

Alexander's stack has grown more than ten-fold in the first half of the opening level, a good chunk coming from the elimination of Adam Owen.

Alexander opened and Owen three-bet shoved. Both players drew one. Alexander tabled a {9-}{6-}{4-}{2-} and Owen was live with an {8-}{7-}{4-}{3-}. Alexander made a {k-} but Owen paired and was sent to the rail.

Ivey Doubles After Alexander Misread

Level 11 : 1,500/3,000, 700 ante
Phil Ivey double up
Phil Ivey double up

Phil Ivey moved all in for 9,800. It folded to James Alexander on the button who three-bet to isolate, getting the other players to fold.

Ivey drew two and Alexander stood pat.

James Alexander: {9-}{9-}{j-}{4-}{2-}
Phil Ivey: {8-}{5-}{2-}

"Oh no! I misread my hand!" said Alexander who obviously didn't realize he had a pair.

Ivey turned over a {2-} to pair and suddenly, the sweat was on. His last card was a {k-} and he doubled.

Ivey and Kenney Bust to Myrivirta

Level 11 : 1,500/3,000, 700 ante

Jyri Merivirta raised under the gun and Bryn Kenney and Phil Ivey both shoved all in from the small and big blinds. Merivirta called.

Kenney drew two, Ivey drew one and Merivirta stood pat.

"Are we dead?" asked Kenney.

Jyri Merivirta: {8-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-}
Phil Ivey: {8-}{6-}{3-}{2-}
Bryn Kenney: {8-}{5-}{2-}

Ivey was dead, but Kenney was drawing to a chop. Ivey drew a {q-} and Kenney drew {10-}{10-} meaning both players were sent to the rail.

Rast Misclicks to Double Through Chidwick

Level 11 : 1,500/3,000, 700 ante

Stephen Chidwick opened from middle position and action folded around to Brian Rast in the small blind. Rast shoved. John Hennigan folded his big blind and Rast thought he won the pot until Chidwick made the call.

"I didn't realize you opened," Rast said to Chidwick.

Rast looked down and drew two while Chidwick swapped one.

Chidwick tabled an {8-}{6-}{5-}{3-} which was a welcome sight for Rast who had a {7-}{4-}{2-} draw. Chidwick peeled a {3-} to make a pair and Rast flipped over a {k-} and a {10-} to stay alive.

Chidwick was forced to pay the double-up, leaving himself short, and he busted a couple of hands later.

Bonyadi Doubles Through Martin

Level 12 : 1,500/3,000, 700 ante

Doyle Brunson opened to 8,000 on the button and Farzad Bonyadi three-bet jammed for 42,500 out of the small blind. Jesse Martin four-bet shoved over the top and Brunson folded.

Both players stood pat and Bonyadi won with a {10-}{9-}{7-}{3-}{2-}. Martin also flashed a {10-} hand that was worse.
