Sammartino Outdraws Sheikahn

Ben Yu opened to 15,000 from middle position and then Shawn Sheikhan three-bet to 42,000 in the small blind. Dario Sammartino saw an opportunity and cold four-bet to 95,000 getting rid of Yu but Sheikhan made the call.

Sheikhan stood pat and Sammartino drew one. Sheikhan checked and Sammartino looked down before checking in disgust. Sheikhan thought he was good tabling a {9-}{8-}{7-}{6-}{3-} but Sammartino was best with a {9-}{8-}{6-}{3-}{2-}.

Brunson Active But Stung by Hennigan

John Hennigan opened and three players looked him up including Doyle Brunson, Paul Volpe, and Eric Seidel. Volpe and Seidel, who were sitting in the blinds, drew one, Hennigan drew two, and Brunson stood pat.

Two checks saw Hennigan put down a stack of pink T$5,000 chips — a bet worth 70,000 — and Brunson quickly called. Volpe and Seidel folded.
