Qui Doubles Through Meyers

Level 20 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Jeffrey Trudeau folded his hand in the small blind after having called a bet earlier when Mao Qui had gone all-in from the button. Brandon Meyers was considering his options from the cutoff. The dealer put aside 45,000 to see how much more Meyers needed to pay if he wanted to call. The dealer and the floor counted out the stack to make sure the amount was right. They both confirmed it was 100,300. Meyers considered his options and then put a stack of chips in to call.

Mao Qui: {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}
Brandon Meyers: {J-Clubs}{J-Spades}

The board ran out {9-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} - even though Meyers had the better hand pre-flop, the nine on the flop ensured the double-up for Qui, leaving Meyers behind with about 15,000.

Bell Hits the Rail

Level 20 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Chris Bell
Chris Bell

Eli Elezra opened to 4,500 from the cutoff and Taylor Paur called from the button. Chris Bell also called from the big blind and the flop came {5-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{j-Spades}.

Action checked to Elezra who then jammed all in for around 75,000. Paur folded and Bell thought for a couple of minutes before making the call for his remaining 50,000. Players flipped over their hands and Bell would be at risk of elimination.

Eli Elezra: {j-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Chris Bell: {q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

The turn fell the {j-Diamonds} and Bell would need to hit one of the remaining clubs, but the {2-Hearts} on the river did not change anything and Elezra took down the pot. With that pot, Elezra has moved just under Phil Helmuth in the chip counts.

Ruge Pulls Wassmuth Out

Level 20 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Chad Wassmuth has just been eliminated by Arne Ruge. Ruge ({A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}) had opened from the cutoff and was met by a shove for about 50,000 by Wassmuth ({K-Hearts}{q-Hearts}) in the small blind. Ruge called.

The flop came with the {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{3-Clubs} to give Ruge the flush and Wassmuth was drawing dead.

On one table over, Fahredin Mustafov was eliminated. And on another table, Scott Stewart, was taken out by Sam Phillips.

Reilly Fails With Royal Flush

Level 19 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Tim Reilly
Tim Reilly

On table #406, Tim Reilly was a bit upset and was kind enough to tell what had happened, with help from the rest of the table.

Sam Phillips had raised to 3,800 from the under-the-gun position. Tim Reilly called from the cutoff and so did Chris Moorman from the big blind.

The flop came {A-}{A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}, Moorman checked, Phillips bet 5,000 and Reilly called. Moorman got out of the way.

The turn brought them the {10-Diamonds}, Phillips check-called the 6,500 bet of Reilly.

The river completed the board with {4-Hearts}, Phillips checked again. Reilly bet 9,000 while having about 36,000 left. Phillips just called.

Sam Phillips: {A-Spades}{4-Spades}
Tim Reilly: {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}

Reilly was pretty miffed that Phillips only called while he had hit a full house against his own royal flush. The rest of the table all chuckled for a while after that (including Reilly himself).

A few hands later, John Andress was seen leaving the tournament area.
