Back to Back Knockouts for Chung

Level 4 : 100/200, 0 ante

Stephanie Chung and her opponent were heads up on the {7-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop. After a series of raises and re-raises all of her opponent's 10,900 chips went in the middle and Chung called.

The player showed {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{4-Hearts} for a flopped straight and Chung held {10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}. The dealer burned and turned the {5-Diamonds} and Chung improved to the nut straight. The {q-Hearts} hit the river and Chung scooped the pot eliminating her opponent.

Just a few hands later Chung held pocket aces on an ace high board sending another player to the rail to chip up to 40,000.

Anderson Loses a Small Pot

Level 5 : 150/300, 0 ante

A player opened to 600 and Calvin Anderson made the call. The player on the button raised it to 1,350 and only Anderson called.

On the flop {j-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{10-Spades}, Anderson checked and called his opponent's all-in for 725. With {a-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{5-Clubs} for Anderson and {j-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} for his opponent, the latter was in good shape to double.

The {2-Clubs} turn and {a-Hearts} river didn't change anything and Anderson lost the pot.

Anderson registered in the tournament and has had a good start, with this pot bringing him up to more than twice starting stack.
