Hand #126: Bill Stabler raised to 525,000 from the button, Scott Hamilton-Hill three-bet shoved from the small blind for 1,625,000, and Stabler called to put Hamilton-Hill at risk.

Bill Stabler: {K-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Scott Hamilton-Hill: {A-Diamonds}{2-Spades}

Hamilton-Hill had the preflop advantage and Stabler needed to improve in order to win the pot. The board ran out {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{J-Spades}{3-Spades}, which paired Stabler's nine, so he took the pot to end Hamilton-Hill's deep run in this event.

Bill Bennett Eliminated in 5th Place ($170,973)

Level 34 : 100,000/200,000, 30,000 ante
Bill Bennett
Bill Bennett

Hand #98: Bill Bennett raised to 425,000 from under the gun and Matthew Davis called from the button.

The flop came {Q-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and Bennett bet 750,000. Davis called.

The {10-Spades} hit the turn and Bennett shoved for just over 6 million. Davis quickly called with a barely covering stack and the two players tabled their hands.

Bill Bennett: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Matthew Davis: {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}

Bennett had turned a set of tens but found himself trailing Davis's flopped nut flush. The {4-Hearts} on the river gave Davis the pot to end Bennett's run in this event.

Although this is Bennett's largest career cash, it's not his deepest finish here at the World Series of Poker. Bennett took down a $1,000 buy-in pot-limit Omaha event at the 15th WSOP held in 1984 for an $84,000 payday. Had he won this event, he would have set the record for the longest amount of time between bracelet wins.
