Katz Arrives

Level 8 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Wattel Folds to Negreanu

Level 8 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

Mike Wattel raised to 6,000 from the cutoff, Daniel Negreanu three-bet to 18,000 from the button and Wattel called.

The flop came down {J-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and both checked to see the {8-Clubs} turn. Wattel checked, Negreanu bet 25,000 and Wattel mulled it over for a bit before he folded.

Negreanu showed the {J-Diamonds}.

Katz Chips Up

Level 8 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Stud

John Hennigan: {x-}{x-}/{8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{a-Spades}{9-Clubs}/{x-}
Cary Katz: {x-}{x-}/{a-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}/{x-}

John Hennigan bet on fifth and sixth street, with Cary Katz calling. Hennigan bet dark on seventh street and Katz eventually called.

"Two pair," announced Hennigan, but Katz's two pair with {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} was good enough to take down the pot.

Kuznetsov Eliminated

Level 8 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante
Timofey Kuznetsov
Timofey Kuznetsov

After what his tablemates called "a slow and steady decline" we saw Timofey Kuznetsov get his last 2,000 or so chips in against Greg Mueller.

Timofey Kuznetsov: {q-Spades}{5-Spades}
Greg Mueller: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

"Flush!" said Kuznetsov hopefully, and his wish was partially granted on the {10-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Spades} with the Russian also picking up a pair for good measure.

The turn was the {a-Spades} giving Kuznetsov his flush. He now had to sweat the river, but the river was the {7-Spades} giving Mueller the nut flush and eliminating Kuznetsov.

Johns Takes From Kostritsyn

Level 8 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante
Ian Johns on Day 1
Ian Johns on Day 1

Omaha Hi-Lo

Alexander Kostritsyn raised from under the gun and Ian Johns called from the big blind.

The flop came down {J-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} and Johns led out. Kostritsyn called, the {3-Diamonds} turn fell, Johns bet and Kostritsyn raised. Johns called, the {2-Spades} river completed the board and both players checked.

Johns tabled {J-Spades}{7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{3-Spades} for jacks and sevens, Kostritsyn mucked and Johns won the pot.

Kruk Clips Rast

Level 8 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

From the button, Christopher Kruk opened to 5,000 and Brian Rast called in the big blind.

The flop landed {6-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and both players checked as the turn landed the {J-Diamonds} and Rast led out for 6,500.

Kruk called, and the river landed the {J-Clubs}. Rast bet 18,500 and Kruk called.

Rast tabled his {K-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}, but it would be Kruk's {10-Spades}{7-Clubs} for a bigger two pair that would ensure him of the pot.

Glick Takes From Gorodinsky

Level 8 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Michael Glick raised from under the gun and Mike Gorodinsky made it three bets. It folded back to Glick who called.

Glick check-called bets on the {7-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop and the {6-Spades} turn. The river was the {q-Diamonds} and both players checked.

Glick turned over {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{j-Spades}{5-Diamonds} for a pair of jacks and took down the pot.
