Niall Farrell chipping up

Level 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

Players were on the turn with the board reading {8-Clubs}{k-Spades}{3-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} and one-time bracelet winner Niall Farrell had been checked to. He made a bet of 3,700, which his opponent called.

There was a {3-Clubs} river and once again Farrell was checked to. After pondering for a minute, the Scot moved all-in for 5,300. His opponent called and they went to showdown. Farrell had the best of it, with {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts} vs {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades} and he chips up to 27,900.

Christian Pham
Christian Pham

Christian Pham limped in from the early position and the player in mid-position did the same. Kenny Hallaert raised to 500 from the hijack. The player in the cutoff called. Action folded to the player in the big blind who shoved for 3,900 in total. Pham called and the rest folded.

Big Blind: {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Christian Pham: {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}

The board ran out {8-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{2-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}, Pham's opponent flopped a set to win the pot. Pham was left behind with less than 3,000.

Achraf Loses a Small Pot

Level 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

There were two limps in front, before Ben Achraf squeezed in middle position to 550. Everyone else passed, before the two callers, made up the difference and the flop was dealt.

{6-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{5-Spades}

It was a dry board and following two checks, Achraf continued for another 550. He was immediately three-bet to 1,250, which was enough to push Ashraf off the pot.

Storms Doubled Already

Level 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

888poker ambassador Natalie Hof has taken her seat at the table during the second level of the day.

Over in the red section of the Brasilia room, Mathijs Storm has doubled already and he smiled when the reporting team walked past him.

"Set over set" he shrugged. "I'll take it."

He was kind enough to recount what had happened:

During the first level of the day, the player in the under-the-gun position limped in. The player in early position raised to 150. Storms three-bet to 600 from the cutoff with {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}. Both of his opponents called.

The flop came {k-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and they all checked through to the {2-Diamonds} on the turn. Storms' opponents both checked again. Storms bet 700, the under-the-gun player raised to 3,000. The player in the early position called. Storms effectively jammed for 8,500. The under-the-gun player called with {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}, the early position player folded {a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for 5k more.

The river was the {j-Diamonds}.

Swift Loses Some

Level 1 : 25/50, 0 ante

The player in the under-the-gun position limped in and action folded all the way back to Katie Swift in the big blind.

The flop came {4-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}, Swift check-called the 100 bet of her opponent.

The dealer turned around the {10-Spades} next, Swift checked again. Her opponent continued with a bet of 200. Swift called.

The {j-Diamonds} on the river completed the board and Swift checked for the last time. Her opponent fired another 625 into the pot. Swift considered it for a bit and then called. She mucked her hand though when the under-the-gun player tabled {10-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} for the rivered full house, tens over jacks.
