Two Quick Chops

Level 6 : 150/300, 0 ante

While a set and a flush is quite a decent hand, in a split pot game such as Omaha 8 or Better that doesn't guarantee the full portion of the pot. And that's what the opponent of Hernan Salazar just experienced when his river bet on a board of {9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{3-Spades}{7-Clubs} was called.

"You got ace four?" he asked and Salazar nodded, turning over the nut low to take half of the pot against {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{3-Hearts}.

One table over, David "ODB" Baker and Itsuko Yoroi battled. Two bets were in after the {9-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop before the {2-Diamonds} turn and {J-Spades} river brought a bet and a call each. Baker showed {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} for the nut flush and no low, and Yoroi took the second half of the pot with {A-Spades}{J-Hearts}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts} for the inferior flush and ace-five low.

Ageloff Among Bigger Stacks

Level 6 : 150/300, 0 ante

On the {8-Spades}{5-Clubs}{3-Spades}{10-Clubs} turn there were already three bets in and there was some confusion as Joseph Wagganer had checked in the hijack and faced a bet of Brandon Ageloff when the {Q-Hearts} fell on the river.

The final bet at that point was 600 to make it 2,400 in total, as bets were not pulled in to facilitate split pots upon showdown. Once the full amount was confirmed, Wagganer called and Ageloff showed {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{5-Spades} for a busted flush draw and two pair, queens and eights.

Wagganer double-checked his cards carefully and mucked.

Matusow Doubles Up

Level 6 : 150/300, 0 ante
Mike Matusow
Mike Matusow

It was a matter of time before Mike Matusow would stick his final chips in and the moment just arrived. On a {2-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{10-Spades} flop, "The Mouth" committed his last 1,225 and John Robison matched the amount.

Mike Matusow: {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{5-Spades}
John Robison: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds}

Matusow needed to fade quite some cards but the {Q-Diamonds} on the turn certainly wasn't one of the scary ones, instead improving the four-time bracelet winner to a full house. The river was the {9-Diamonds} and Matusow doubled up.

"My fellow Trumpie keeping me afloat!" Matusow cheered after the hand.

No "Suckout" for Flack

Level 6 : 150/300, 0 ante
Layne Flack
Layne Flack

A trio of players checked the {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} turn and the {7-Spades} fell on the river, Kenneth Robison in the hijack bet and Layne Flack called on the button, the small blind folded. Robison rolled over the {J-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{4-Spades}{2-Spades} for a full house and Flack mucked {A-Clubs}{7-Clubs}.

"I thought I was going to have another river suckout." said Flack.

While Flack lost that small pot, he is still well above the average.

Tryba Chops With Madsen

Level 7 : 200/400, 0 ante

The table with Mike Matusow, Leif Force and Jeff Madsen has welcomed another WSOP bracelet winner as Chris Tryba took the open seat next to Madsen. The two tangled right away on a {5-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{6-Spades} board, where Tryba bet and Madsen called.

On the {8-Spades} river, Madsen checked, Tryba bet, Madsen check-raised and Tryba called it off after a slight hesitation.

Madsen flung {9-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{2-Spades} open for the nut straight and a seventy-six, Tryba had the wheel with {10-Spades}{8-Hearts}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts} and the two chopped it up.

"Nice river, Anthony," Tryba said to the dealer.
