Hills Trips Up Bohn

Level 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

Andy Hills raised to 200 from late position and Blake Bohn reraised to 700 from the cutoff. It folded back to Hills who called and they went heads up to the {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} flop. Hills checked and Bohn tossed out a bet of 500.

Hills check-raised to 1,300 and Bohn moved all in for 6,600. Hills snap-called and they turned over the cards.

"I guess you have a ten," Bohn said turning over {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds} and Hills showed {k-Spades}{10-Spades} for trip tens. The turn {j-Hearts} and river {5-Diamonds} were no help to Bohn who was eliminated, and Hills is off to a fast start here in the early levels.

Finton Takes One Out

Level 1 : 25/50, 0 ante

With the board reading {2-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}, John Finton bet 1,700 and one opponent called. The turn then brought a {4-Spades} and Finton moved all in. His opponent was the shorter stack with 4,500 left, and after thinking for a few moments, he made the call.

John Finton: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}
Opponent: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}

Finton had top set versus a pair, and the hand was over even before the {3-Clubs} river was dealt.

The Early Birds

Level 1 : 25/50, 0 ante

There are a bunch of notable names already in the field. Among them is the "Robin Hood of Poker," philanthropist and Poker Hall of Famer Barry Greenstein. Greenstein has three bracelets and 99 WSOP and circuit cashes. Could this tournament be his 100th?

Joe Cada, the 2009 WSOP Main Event champion, has also taken a seat, Like Greenstein, Cada will have his sights set on earning a fourth career bracelet.

Those two are not the only bracelet winners in the room, as Niall Farrell and Michael Gagliano are also in the running. Meanwhile, Thomas Boivin and Cole Jackson are both here, too, looking to win their first.

Hills Takes One From Gagliano

Level 1 : 25/50, 0 ante
Michael Gagliano
Michael Gagliano

Michael Gagliano and Andy Hills were just involved in a battle of the blinds. We picked up the tail end of the preflop action just as Hills was putting out a reraise to 1,750. Gagliano called and they went heads up to the {10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop. Gagliano checked and Hills tossed out a bet of 1,400. Gagliano called, then both players checked the {q-Spades} turn card.

The river was the {10-Clubs} and Gagliano checked. Hills bet 5,350 and after thinking it over for about 20 seconds Gagliano released his hand into the muck.
