More Runners Take Their Seats

Level 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

We are now up to 725 runners in the tournament and a few more notables are among them.

Kenny Hallaert has remained around starting stack after winning a small pot just now. All the cards were out and the board read {k-Spades}{8-Spades}{k-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{2-Clubs}. There was no betting on the river and Hallaert showed {q-Clubs}{8-Clubs} for two pair to take it down.

Meanwhile current EPT Sochi champion Arsenii Karmatakii is in the house, along with Spanish pro Leo Margets.

Daniel Strelitz
Daniel Strelitz

A player in late position raised to 300 and Daniel Strelitz reraised to 1,000 from the hijack. It folded back to the original raiser who moved all in for 7,300.

Strelitz snap called turning over {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} and his opponent showed {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}. The dealer fanned the {k-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades} flop and Strelitz flopped top set putting a hammerlock on the hand. The turn {3-Hearts} and river {10-Spades} sealed the deal for Strelitz who earned the pot and the knockout.

Taylor Off to a Good Start

Level 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

Thomas Taylor was playing position against one opponent on a flop of {k-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. The single-suited board saw a check from both players and the dealer laid out the {9-Hearts} on the turn. Taylor's opponent bet 525 on the turn and it was enough to get a fold from Taylor.

Losing that small one hasn't affected Taylor's strong start too much, as he has essentially doubled up during the first hour-and-a-half of the day.
