Sucov Chipping Up

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Andrew Brokos has been on top of the chip counts for much of Day 2 here in Event #43: $2,500 No-Limit Hold'em but another player has been quietly amassing chips. Edan Sucov was flying under the radar for much of the day but that is no longer the case.

Sucov is now playing one of the biggest stacks in the room with 585,000 and the field is thinning fast with just 90 players remaining.

Naumann Barrels Every Street

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Jacob Naumann
Jacob Naumann

Play was on the flop, with {j-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} out.

Jacob Naumann bet 26,000 on the flop, which was check-called, then on the {10-Hearts} turn, he bet 31,000, which was also check-called.

The final card was a {9-Hearts}, bringing backdoor hearts and a one-card straight. Naumann wasted little time going all-in for 81,000. He got a fold and just a couple of hands later, the table broke.

Brokos Extending His Lead

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Andrew Brokos
Andrew Brokos

Andrew Brokos just took a big pot from Jacob Naumann on a board reading {q-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{3-Clubs}. Brokos bet 114,500 on the river and Naumann called. Brokos turned over his {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} for the nut straight and another big pot was shipped Brokos' way.

He is now up to 635,000 and has extended his chip lead as we approach the dinner break.

Vampan Doubles Through Hunichen

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Daniel Vampan double up
Daniel Vampan double up

In one of the last hands at the previous blind level Chris Hunichen raised to 8,000 from the cutoff. It folded to Daniel Vampan in the big blind and he moved all-in for 75,500. Hunichen called turning over {k-Spades}{q-Spades} and Vampan showed {a-Diamonds}{10-Spades}.

The dealer fanned the {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop giving Vampan top pair and Hunichen picked up a gutshot straight draw to go along with his over cards. The turn was the {6-Hearts} and the {2-Clubs} hit the river to earn Vampan the pot and the double-up.
