Gathy Climbing Up

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Michael Gathy
Michael Gathy

Michael Gathy raised to 7,000 from middle position and he was called by the player in the cutoff and the player in the big blind.

The flop was {10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} and all three players involved in the hand checked their option. Gathy took the pot down with a delayed continuation-bet of 7,000 on the {2-Hearts} turn after both his opponents folded their hands.

Niste Eliminates Akenhead

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Mihai Niste opened from the cutoff and James Akenhead shoved his last chips in the middle for a stack of around 30,000. Niste made the call and both players tabled their cards:

James Akenhead: {a-Clubs}{4-Spades}
Mihai Niste: {a-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

Akenhead was in bad shape to survive and the board of {9-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{7-Spades}{2-Spades}{6-Hearts} sent him into the rail.

Neuville Chipping Up

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

The board was already on the table when we arrived at Pierre Neuville's table. The cards were spread {J-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Spades} and there were chips in front of Neuville and his right-hand neighbor.

Neuville showed {K-Spades}{J-Hearts} for two pair and he was awarded with the pot.

Neuville is expanding his stack bit by bit, just like his fellow countryman Michael Gathy.

Bicknell Ace's High is Good

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Todd Ivens raised to 7,000 from the small blind and Kristen Bicknell made the call from the big blind.

The flop was {9-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} and Bicknell called Ivens 's bet for 8,000. The same action happened on the turn {9-Clubs}, this time for 16,000.

The river was a {7-Hearts} and after some thought, both players checked. Ivens tabled {5-Hearts}{j-Spades}, and mucked his hand when Bicknell showed {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs} for ace high.

Agarwal Doubles Through Steinman

Level 15 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Marciano Cruz opened to 7,000 from under the gun and Ian Steinman made the call in middle position. Anuj Agarwal on the button chose to shove all in for 76,500 and the action folded back to Steinman who quickly made the call.

Holding {j-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}, Agarwal was in good shape for a double up, facing {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades} in Steinman's hand, and the {5-Clubs}{q-Spades}{7-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} runout gave him the pot.

Lewis Double Up

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Scotty Nguyen's table is definitely the loudest in the tournament area and everybody seems to enjoy themselves on the table. Romain Lewis has one more reason to be pleased after he just doubled up.

Another player raised to 8,500 and Lewis pushed all-in from the big blind for a total of 34,500. Although the other player only needed to put in another 26,000, it did look like he had a tough decision. He ended up calling.

Romain Lewis: {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}
Opponent: {A-Hearts}{8-Spades}

The board ran out {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and Lewis doubled up.

Scotty Nguyen

Scotty Nguyen saw the player on the button raise and Nguyen had enough of it.

"Stop messing with me! Every time you raise on my big blind. Enough! It's the fourth time in a row!" and Nguyen put in a stack of orange chips. The player on the button thought about it, but he ended up folding so Nguyen started stacking up again.
