"You Can't Win the Tournament. It's Literally Impossible"

Level 9 : 3,000/6,000, 700 ante

In a hand recapped to us by Matt Glantz and Ryan Miller from just before the break, Miller and Calvin Anderson played a pot with their boards winding up as follows:

Ryan Miller: {X-}{X-} / {3-}{5-}{Q-}{Q-} / {X-}
Calvin Anderson: {X-}{X-} / {3-}{5-}{6-}{K-} / {X-}

Miller completion on third street was raised by Anderson, Miller's fourth street bet was raised by Anderson, and when it came to seventh street Miller's initial starting hand of {A-}{4-} / {3-}{5-} finished with a runout of {Q-}{Q-}{A-} for a queen-five low.

Anderson, meanwhile, had downcards of {J-}{9-}{10-} (which he neither confirmed nor denied) and won the pot with a ten-nine.

"You can't win the tournament. It's literally impossible," said Miller. "400 to 1 maybe."

"I'll take that," said Anderson.

Matt Glantz: {X-}{X-} / {4-}{4-}{3-}
David "ODB" Baker: {X-}{X-} / {7-}{J-}{A-}

Matt Glantz completed on third street and David "ODB" Baker called.

Baker bet with the unpaired board on fourth street, Glantz called and his remaining 18,200 went into the middle after a series of bets and raises on fifth street.

Matt Glantz: {2-}{7-} / {4-}{4-}{3-}
David "ODB" Baker: {2-}{5-} / {7-}{J-}{A-}

Here were the rest of their runouts:

Matt Glantz: {2-}{7-} / {4-}{4-}{3-}{J-} / {5-}
David "ODB" Baker: {2-}{5-} / {7-}{J-}{A-}{8-} / {Q-}

Baker made an eight-seven on sixth, but Glantz pulled a seven-five on seventh to double up.

James Obst: {X-}{X-} / {3-}{A-}{10-}{6-} / {X-}
Jason Mercier: {X-}{X-} / {7-}{2-}{K-}{10-} / {X-}
James Chen: {X-}{X-} / {4-}{9-}{J-}{A-} / {X-}

Picking up the action on fourth street, James Obst bet with the best board. Jason Mercier raised, James Chen called, Obst reraised, Mercier called and Chen called.

Obst bet on fifth street, Mercier called all in for 3,400 and Chen called.

Obst check-called a bet from Chen on sixth street before both players checked on seventh.

Obst showed {6-}{8-}{Q-} for a ten-eight, Mercier showed {A-}{4-}{10-} for a ten-seven, but Chen tabled {5-}{7-}{10-} for a nine-seven to win the pot and eliminate Mercier.

"Nice playing with you," said Katherine Fleck to Mercier.

"There's always next year in the $10K Razz," said Mercier.
