Hunichen Finds a Double

Level 5 : 150/300, 50 ante

The action folded to the button who raised it up to 700. Chris Hunichen was in the big blind and three-bet to 2,200 only to have the button shove all in. Hunichen instantly made the call and was the player at risk for 10,500.

Chris Hunichen: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Opponent: {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}

Hunichen was in the lead and would need to dodge a seven if he wanted to make another deep run like his second-place finish last year. The board ran out {q-Spades}{8-Hearts}{9-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and Hunichen secured himself a full double up.

The entries have continued to roll in throughout the day and here is a look at the latest few.

Hartree on a Roll

Level 5 : 150/300, 50 ante

Picking up the action on the turn with the board reading {9-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}, Kyle Hartree checked from the small blind to James Mackey in the big blind. Mackey threw in a bet of 1,700 and Hartree made the call.

The river was the {j-Diamonds} and Hartree checked again. Mackey continued his story with a bet of 3,700 but Hartree still called after giving it some thought. Mackey turned over {6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} for a missed straight draw and Hartree tabled {8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} for the only pair.

Battle of the Bracelet Winners

James Calderaro
James Calderaro

The board was already out and it read {a-Spades}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs}{k-Spades}{9-Diamonds}.

James Calderaro had shoved 9,050 all-in and Brian Yoon was the one with a decision to make. After a minute or so in the tank, he threw the chips in but mucked when he saw Calderaro had the nuts with {q-Spades}{6-Spades}.

Schindler Starting to Build a Stack

Level 5 : 150/300, 50 ante

Jake Schindler opened to 600 from under the gun and was called by the hijack and both of the blinds. The flop came {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{7-Spades} and the action checked to the hijack who tossed in a bet of 1,200. The small blind folded while both the big blind and Schindler called.

The turn brought the {a-Diamonds} and all three players checked to the {3-Clubs} on the river. The big blind checked, Schindler also checked after a moment, and the hijack tapped the table as well. Schindler was the first to whip over his cards, showing {j-Spades}{8-Spades} and both of his opponents mucked their cards.
