Baker Doubles Through Galfond For the Pay Jump

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

Phil Galfond raised to 90,00 blind on blind and David "ODB" Baker called in the big blind.

The flop came {9-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}. Galfond moved all in for 180,000 and Baker tanked. Michel Abecassis eventually called time and, after the hand at the neighbouring table concluded, he called.

Phil Galfond: {q-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{3-Spades}
David "ODB" Baker: {a-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades}

The turn {a-Hearts} paired Baker and the river {j-Spades} ensured there was no low and Baker doubled up.

Andreas Klatt Eliminated in 15th Place ($21,602)

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante
Andreas Klatt
Andreas Klatt

Andreas Klatt potted on the button with 5,000 back and Chris Lee looked at his holding a few times before reluctantly putting Klatt all in out of the big blind.

Andreas Klatt: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}
Chris Lee: {k-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

Klatt's holding had Lee crushed but the {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} changed that in a hurry.

"Wow," Klatt whispered.

Klatt still had a wheel draw but the {j-Clubs} and {a-Spades} gave Lee a boat to scoop.

Abecassis Quarters Johnson

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

Michel Abecassis potted for 220,000 in the big blind on {2-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop and Marco Johnson called in the cutoff. The river was the {7-Hearts} and Abecassis checked. Johnson announced all in for about 400,000 effective and Abecassis shrugged and called, showing {a-Clubs}{3-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for the nut low. Johnson had the same low with {a-Spades}{4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{5-Spades} but Abecassis had him high-carded with ace-ten to take three quarters.

Shack-Harris Scoops Chip Leader McKenna

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

Brandon Shack-Harris moved all in for 130,000 and was called by Michael McKenna in the big blind.

Brandon Shack-Harris: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}
Michael McKenna: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{6-Spades}

Shack-Harris locked up half of the pot on the {8-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{2-Clubs} making his low.

"Uh-oh," said McKenna as the {a-Clubs} rolled off on the turn. The river was the {5-Hearts} and Shack-Harris doubled up.

Johnson Quarters Wang

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

Marco Johnson potted on the button and Yong Wang repotted in the small blind. Johnson jammed for 390,000 and Wang quickly called.

Marco Johnson: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{8-Spades}
Yong Wang: {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{2-Spades}

The {5-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop had Johnson shaking his head as Wang flopped a nut low to secure half of the pot for the moment. The {5-Clubs} turn had Johnson calling for a deuce on the river to grab three-quarters and that's exactly what happened as the {2-Hearts} fell.

"Sometimes, you just gotta call for it," he said.

Gooch Doubles Through Power

Level 23 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

Jason Gooch got it in from the button with {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{3-Spades} against Chad Power in the big blind, who had {a-}{3-}{9-}{8-}. The board ran out {q-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{8-Clubs}, so Gooch scooped with queens and a five-three for low. Power sent him 120,000.

Randy Ohel Eliminated in 16th Place ($21,602)

Level 22 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante
Randy Ohel
Randy Ohel

Randy Ohel raised to 84,000 and Phil Galfond called out of the big blind. The flop came {j-Spades}{7-Spades}{10-Hearts} and Galfond checked and snap-called when Ohel jammed about 140,000 in. Ohel had aces: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs}. However, he'd been outflopped by {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{k-Spades}{10-Spades}.

"Top two and spades?" Ohel asked. "That's not good."

The dealer brought forth a {2-Hearts} on the turn to give Ohel a shot at a low, which Ohel said was, in fact, good. However, the {10-Clubs} river was not, and Galfond sent him packing with a boat.

Players are on break for 15 minutes.
