Pescatori and Ross Chop a Monster Pot

Level 5 : 1,200/2,400, 300 ante

Max Pescatori: {x-}{x-} / {8-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{j-Hearts} / {x-}
Erik Seidel: {x-}{x-} / {a-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} (folds on fifth)
Mike Matusow: {x-}{x-} / {2-Spades}{8-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} / {x-}
Michael Ross: {x-}{x-} / {5-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{6-Clubs} / {x-}

Michael Ross completed with a five showing and Max Pescatori called. Erik Seidel three-bet which brought Mike Matusow along as well. Ross and Pescatori both called. On fourth, the action checked to Ross who tossed in a bet and all three players called.

The action ramped up on fifth as Matusow was the first to throw in a bet. Ross just called and Pescatori check-raised. Seidel thought for a good minute before getting out of the way. Matusow three-bet, Ross four-bet, and Pescatori capped the action, with both players calling.

On sixth, Matusow picked up the betting lead but slowed down. He checked to Ross who threw in a bet and Pescatori raised. Matusow called only to have Ross three-bet and Pescatori four-bet. Matusow called again and Ross capped the action with both players calling.

With nearly 80,000 chips in the pot already, Matusow checked on seventh. Ross bet and Pescatori raised. Matusow shook his head as his cards went to the muck. With the action heads-up now, Ross just called and tabled {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for a seven low. Pescatori showed {q-Spades}{10-Hearts}{2-Hearts} for a flush and the two chopped the pot.

"I have a made eight and open-ended straight draw," Matusow noted, referring to {4-}{3-} in the hole. "You somehow put in twelve thousand twice with just a seven low," Matusow turned his banter toward Ross.

Vitch and Leah Chop a Four-Way Pot

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 300 ante

Chris Vitch: {x-}{x-}/{3-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{4-Spades}/{x-}
Opponent: {x-}{x-}/{5-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{K-Spades}{3-Clubs}/{x-}
Dan Shak: {x-}{x-}/{A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Spades} - fold on fifth
Mike Leah: {x-}{x-}/{4-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}/{x-}

After a limp from one player, Dan Shak completed. He was called by Mike Leah, Chris Vitch, and the original limper.

On fourth street, action checked to the fourth player in the hand and he bet. Shak, Leah and Vitch all called.

On fifth street, action checked to Leah. Leah put out a bet and Vitch called. The other player called as well while Shak let it go.

On sixth street, Leah led out with a bet again and he was called by Vitch and the other player. All three players checked on seventh.

Vitch showed his {4-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} for two pair. Leah held {J-Clubs}{8-Spades}{6-Spades} for jacks and an eight-six low. The third player in the hand could only produce {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for a pair of eights. That meant Leah and Vitch would chop the pot.

Brian Twete Scooping Pots, Possible Chip Leader

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 300 ante

Brian Twete: {x-}{x-}/{4-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Spades}/{x-}
Opponent: {x-}{x-}/{Q-Spades}{8-Spades}{J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}/{x-}

Picking up the action from fifth street, Brian Twete put out a bet when checked to and his opponent called. Twete bet again on sixth and seventh streets and his opponent called each time.

Twete showed down his {7-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} on seventh and with a straight and a six low, he would take down another pot. Twete looks to be the biggest stack in the room at this point with over 150,000 chips.

In 2012, Twete made the final table of the $5,000 Stud Hi-Lo event and he also has one cash from earlier this series in a stud hi-lo as well. He'll look to improve on those performances with a strong running in this event.

Koral Scoops Shack-Harris

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 300 ante

Tom Koral: {x-}{x-} / {6-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{3-Spades} / {x-}
Opponent: {x-}{x-} / {8-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{7-Clubs} - fold on sixth
Brandon Shack-Harris: {x-}{x-} / {2-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{10-Clubs} / {x-}

Picking up the action on fifth street, the action was on Tom Koral who threw in a bet and was called by his opponent on his left and Brandon Shack-Harris. On sixth, the action checked to Koral again who continued with another bet. His opponent on his left folded and Shack-Harris quickly called.

Before the last cards were dealt, Shack-Harris checked, Koral bet, and Shack-Harris called. Koral flipped over {9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades} for a nine-high straight and an eight low. Shack-Harris lifted his cards up but was unable to beat Koral, sending the entire pot his way.

Kassela Slows Down Tafur

Level 6 : 1,500/3,000, 300 ante

Daniel Tafur had been cruising through the day, knocking players out left, right, and center, at his table until Frank Kassela joined his table.

Frank Kassela: {x-}{x-} / {2-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{3-Clubs} / {x-}
Daniel Tafur: {x-}{x-} / {q-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{j-Hearts} / {x-}
Opponent: {x-}{x-} / {7-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} - fold on fifth

The action was checked to Kassela on fourth who threw in a bet "just in case" as he said. Both Tafur and another opponent made the call. On fifth, Tafur made a pair of queens and led out with a bet. Kassela was the only player to call as they went heads-up to sixth.

Tafur checked to Kassela who showed four cards to a wheel and Kassela tossed in another bet. Tafur called and then checked again on seventh. Kassela bet again and Tafur let out a grumble.

"I don't think he's raising you," Esther Taylor pointed out at the table. Tafur indeed just called and Kassela turned over {a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} for aces up and a seven perfect. Tafur flashed the {k-}{j-}{10-} before his cards went to the muck.

"What street didn't you like there?" Kyle Miaso asked Kassela.
