Barber Sends One Out

Level 4 : 75/150, 25 ante
Andrew Barber
Andrew Barber

A player in early position had already committed 425 chip preflop when we got to the table. Andrew Barber three-bet to 1,600 from the button, the original raiser shoved, and Barber called with a covering stack.

Andrew Barber: {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}
Opponent: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}

Barber's opponent found himself far behind and needed a lot of help from the deck to double up. The board ran out {8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} and Barber took the pot with his aces to stack his opponent.

Sexton Straightens Snow

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante
Mike Sexton earlier this summer
Mike Sexton earlier this summer

With about 1,700 chips in the pot and the board reading {7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}, both blinds checked and the under-the-gun player bet 1,100. Alan Snow called from early position, Mike Sexton called from the cutoff, and everyone else got out of the way.

The {9-Clubs} fell on the turn and the under-the-gun player bet 2,200. Snow shoved for about 8,000, Sexton called to put himself at risk, the original bettor folded, and the two live players tabled their hands.

Alan Snow: {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Mike Sexton: {8-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

Snow had flopped open-ended straight and flush draws in addition to having paired up on the turn, but Sexton had the best of it with an nine-high straight. The {2-Clubs} on the river was no help to Snow and Sexton took the pot to leave Snow running on fumes.

Three Sets, But Only One Winner

Level 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

An opponent in the cutoff moved all in for 6,000, Samuel Yon called from the button and so did another opponent in late position. The flop came down {10-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{4-Diamonds}, the late position opponent checked to Yon who moved all in for his remaining 4,125, his opponent called and players turned over their hands.

The cutoff player showed {10-Spades}{10-Hearts} for a flopped set, the late position opponent tabled {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} for a higher set, and Yon showed {k-Hearts}{k-Spades} for a pair of kings.

The {2-Spades} on the turn was no help to anyone, the river, however, was the {k-Diamonds}, bringing yet another set to the table and improving Yon to the leader, eliminating one opponent and doubling through the other with his set of kings on the river.
