Duhamel Gives Up On the River

Level 10 : 400/800, 100 ante

There were about 5,500 chips in the pot and the board read {Q-Spades}{9-Spades}{4-Diamonds} when we got to the table. The big blind checked, Jonathan Duhamel bet 1,500 from middle position, and the big blind called.

The {8-Spades} hit the turn and both players checked.

The river brought the {9-Hearts} and the big blind bet 4,200. Duhamel folded, and as the dealer pushed the pot to the big blind, he flipped over {A-Spades}{10-Hearts}.

"I never show," he said. "Just this once."

Bohlman Slips

Level 9 : 300/600, 100 ante

A player in middle position bet 3,500 on a {5-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} flop and Scott Bohlman shoved from the button. The middle-position player quickly called to put himself at risk.

Scott Bohlman: {4-Spades}{4-Clubs}
Opponent: {A-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}

Bohlman had flopped an open-ended straight draw but found himself in bad shape against his opponent's made wheel. The {K-Clubs} turn and {10-Spades} river were no help to Bohlman and his opponent took the pot.

Heimiller Wins With Third Pair

Level 8 : 250/500, 75 ante

Three players checked around on a {K-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{4-Clubs}{9-Hearts} board with about 5,000 in the middle.

The river brought the {2-} and a player in early position bet 2,200. Dan Heimiller called from middle position and the third player got out of the way. Heimiller tabled {A-Hearts}{9-Clubs} and his pair of nines was good enough to win the pot against his opponent's {Q-Hearts}{8-Hearts}.
