Foxen Straightens Out Yu to Cross a Million

Level 11 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Catching up to action on the river with a board of {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} Alex Foxen had a bet of 193,000 out in front of him and Ben Yu was in the tank. He tanked through four time extensions for nearly two and a half minutes before he finally decided on a call. Foxen showed down his {9-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for a flopped straight and Yu just nodded and sent over the chips.

After the hand, Foxen was up over 1 million chips while Yu was left with 315,000.

Zhang Doubles Twice, Then Busts

Level 11 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Chi Zhang earlier this summer
Chi Zhang earlier this summer

Jason Koon opened to 28,000 and with just 12,000 chips to his name, Chi Zhang called all in. Cary Katz raised to 100,000 and Koon folded.

Zhang held for a full double with aces against the queens of Katz.

Then, Katz raised to 28,000 and Zhang moved all in from the button. Katz called with {7-Hearts}{8-Hearts} against the {a-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} of Zhang.

The flop {3-Spades}{6-Hearts}{10-Spades} gave Katz a gutshot and the {3-Hearts} turn gave him a flush draw as well. "Too many outs," said Katz, and that proved to be the case on the {a-Clubs} river and Zhang doubled.

On the very next hand it folded to Zhang in the small blind who moved all in and Igor Kurganov checked his cards before calling.

Chi Zhang: {a-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}
Igor Kurganov: {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

There was to be no third double on the {q-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} board as Zhang was eliminated.

Andress Doubles Through Kurganov

Level 11 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

John Andress three-bet jammed for 92,000 preflop and Igor Kurganov made the call to put Andress at risk.

John Andress: {a-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Igor Kurganov: {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}

The board ran out {j-Spades}{5-Clubs}{q-Spades}{k-Hearts}{10-Spades} and as Andress got up of his seat on the turn, he sheepishly slid back in when he rivered broadway.

Schwippert Pays off Sekularac

Level 12 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Catching the action on the river on a board of {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{4-Spades} with a pot of over 300,000 in the middle of the table. Ognjen Sekularac was first to act and he put out a bet of 175,000. Jan Eric Schwippert was on the button and he tanked through at least one time bank before finally deciding to call. Sekularac showed down his {Q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} and it was good to earn him the pot with trip nines.

After the hand, Sekularac moved to over 800,000 chips while Schwippert was left with 405,000.

Negreanu Gives Chips to Petrangelo

Level 12 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Nick Petrangelo check-called a bet of 25,000 from Daniel Negreanu on the {3-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop. The turn {6-Hearts} caused Petrangelo to bet 50,000 and Negreanu called.

The river was the {5-Spades}. Petrangelo bet 185,000 and Negreanu used up a time extension before calling.

Petrangelo showed {6-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for trips and Negreanu flung his cards across the table into the muck.

Seidel Eliminated

Level 12 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Erik Seidel
Erik Seidel

It folded to Erik Seidel on the button who moved all in. Brian Green was in the big blind and called putting Seidel at risk.

Erik Seidel: {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}
Brian Green: {j-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}

Seidel needed to win the flip to stay alive, but the {j-Spades}{8-Clubs}{2-Spades} flop was the worst start possible giving his opponent two pair. The turn {8-Spades} was even worse improving Green to a full house, and the river brought the {k-Diamonds} and Seidel was eliminated.
