Vogelsang Slows the Train of Einhorn

Daniel Negreanu raised to 250,000 from under the gun and Christoph Vogelsang re-raised to 650,000 from the cutoff. David Einhorn used up a time extension before making the call on the button while Negreanu folded.

On a flop of {10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{5-Spades}, Vogelsang led out for 550,000 only to have Einhorn raise to 1,400,000. Vogelsang three-bet all in for 4,530,000 and Einhorn went into the tank. After using up a time extension, Einhorn elected to send his cards to the muck, taking his first loss of the day.

Holz Takes a Chunk From Chidwick

Level 11 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Stephen Chidwick raised to 225,000 from under the gun and Fedor Holz called from the big blind.

The flop came down {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and Holz check-called 500,000 from Chidwick. The turn was the {7-Spades} and Holz check-called 1,500,000 from Chidwick. The river was the {5-Clubs} and both players checked.

Holz tabled {A-Clubs}{J-Hearts} for a pair of jacks, Chidwick mucked and Holz won the pot.

Four-Bet Shove by Badziakouski

Level 11 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Mikita Badziakouski raised to 225,000 and Byron Kaverman three-bet to 700,000 from one seat over. Action folded back to Badziakouski and he four-bet all in for 4.36 million, and Kaverman folded.

Justin Bonomo raised to 300,000 out of the small blind and Phil Ivey called in the big blind. On the {Q-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{4-Spades} flop, Bonomo bet 225,000 and Ivey released his cards into the muck.

In a limped pot one hand later, Ivey bet the {A-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop for 100,000 and Badziakouski called to see the {7-Diamonds} turn. Ivey check-called a bet of 200,000 and the duo checked the {2-Hearts} on the river. Ivey turned over {10-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for fives and deuces, and that won the pot.

Chidwick Over Smith Twice

Level 11 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Dan Smith raised second to act, making it 230,000, and Stephen Chidwick defended big blind. Chidwick check-called 180,000 and then they checked to the river, leading to a board of {k-Clubs}{8-Spades}{2-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}. Chidwick fired big with 1 million and Smith folded with about two seconds left on his timer.

A few hands later, Chidwick opened button for 200,000 and Smith defended his own big blind. Smith check-called 400,000 on the {9-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop. On the {10-Hearts} turn, Smith checked and faced another big barrel of 1.2 million. He surrendered.

Kempe's Tournament is Short-Lived

Rainer Kempe opened to 225,000 from under the gun and David Einhorn three-bet to 675,000 from the hijack. The action folded back to Kempe who stuck in a four-bet to 1,625,000. Einhorn five-bet shoved all in and Kempe quickly called.

Kempe's tournament life was at risk just 20 minutes after registering in the tournament. The flop came {j-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} leaving Kempe drawing to two remaining queens in the deck. The turn brought the {a-Hearts} and Kempe was drawing dead to the {9-Diamonds} on the river.

Aces for Seidel

Talal Shakerchi raised to 225,000 from the hijack, Erik Seidel three-bet to 775,000 from the small blind and Shakerchi called.

The flop came down {J-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}, Seidel continued for 630,000 and Shakerchi called. The {6-Hearts} turn was checked by both players, the {10-Hearts} river completed the board and Seidel bet 1,300,000.

Shakerchi called, but mucked when Seidel tabled {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts} for a pair of aces.

Ivey Takes Over the Lead

Level 11 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Justin Bonomo made it 220,000 to go from the button and Mikita Badziakouski defended his big blind. The flop came {9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and Badziakouski checked over to Bonomo, who continued for 150,000. That ended the hand right there as Bonomo scooped his first pot of the day.

Phil Ivey made it 225,000 to go on the button the next hand and Byron Kaverman came along out of the big blind, the flop fell {K-Spades}{9-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}. Kaverman checked and called a bet of 225,000 by Ivey. Both checked the {8-Hearts} on the turn and the {10-Diamonds} followed on the river. Both checked and Kaverman won the pot with the {Q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} for a pair of nines.

Petrangelo raised to 220.,000 and Ivey three-bet to 720,000 in the cutoff. Petrangelo tossed in calling chips and the flop came {Q-Hearts}{J-Spades}{10-Clubs}. Petrangelo's check was followed by a bet of 1 million by Ivey and that won the pot right there.

Negreanu Stays Relentless

Rainer Kempe raised to 225,000 from middle position and was called by Cary Katz in the small blind and Daniel Negreanu in the big blind. The flop fell {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and Katz checked to Negreanu who threw in a bet of 200,000. Kempe called while Katz got out of the way.

The turn was the {j-Clubs} and Negreanu led out for 300,000. Kempe used up his allotted time and still called. The {j-Spades} on the river double-paired the board but Negreanu still fired out a bet of 1,500,000. Kempe finally released his cards to the muck as he took a small hit to his stack early on.

Koon Takes From Shakerchi

Jason Koon raised to 225,000 from under the gun, Fedor Holz called from the next seat over and Talal Shakerchi called from the cutoff.

The flop came down {J-Spades}{9-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and action checked to Shakerchi who bet 425,000. Only Koon called to see the {3-Clubs} turn which both players checked. The river was the {4-Hearts}, Koon bet 400,000 and Shakerchi folded.

Petrangelo Takes on Rast; Kaverman Chips Up

Level 11 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

In a battle of the blinds, Brian Rast limped in and Nick Petrangelo checked his option in the big blind. On the {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop, Rast bet 150,000 and Petrangelo called before doing so again for 450,000 on the {J-Spades} turn.

Rast slowed down on the {6-Diamonds} river and checked, which prompted a bet of 1.3 million by Petrangelo. That ended up winning the pot without further resistance, as Rast sent his cards into the muck.

Byron Kaverman raised to 225,000 and Rick Salomon called from the cutoff, as did Justin Bonomo in the big blind. On the {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop, Bonomo checked to Kaverman, who made it 325,000 to go. Salomon called and Bonomo folded. The {7-Diamonds} turn went check, check, and the {8-Diamonds} appeared on the river.

Kaverman's bet of 650,000 forced a fold from Salomon and Kaverman dragged in the pot.
