One for Zhukov

Level 9 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

On the flop of {K-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{5-Spades}, Wayne Diep check-raised into a bet of Viacheslav Zhukov and was called. The {10-Spades} turn brought a bet by Diep and a call by Zhukov before the {3-Spades} river brought no betting action. Diep showed an ace-king-queen and Zhukov won the pot with the {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades}.

Craft Remains in Contention

Level 8 : 1,300/2,500, 0 ante

Jesse Martin raised and picked up one caller in Perry Friedman. Mickey Craft from one seat over three-bet and John Monnette called in the big blind, as did Martin and Friedman. On the {A-Spades}{7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop, action checked to Craft and he moved all in for fewer than a big bet, which was called by Martin and Friedman.

Both remaining active players checked down the {3-Hearts} turn and the {5-Hearts} river. Friedman showed {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} for the low, Martin had {A-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{3-Spades} and Craft the {A-Hearts}{9-Spades}{8-Clubs}{8-Spades} for the nut straight to chip up thanks to the multi-way pot.

Martini Takes One Down; Rast Joins

Level 8 : 1,300/2,500, 0 ante

Julien Martini scooped a pot against Shane Douglas when the latter called his bet on the river of a board {9-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{7-Clubs} with pocket aces, then mucked when Martini flashed the {7-Spades}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades}.

Right after, Nick Shulman raised in the cutoff and Daniel Negreanu three-bet on the button, Shulman called. On the {J-Hearts}{6-Spades}{2-Diamonds} flop, Shulman check-called a bet before doing so again on the {J-Diamonds} turn and the {A-Spades} river. Negreanu showed {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} and Schulman claimed the low pot with {7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}.

Right after the hand was over, Brian Rast sat down after having just entered. The same table also features Mack Lee, who Martini played with for hours and hours on the way to victory in Event #4: $1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo Omaha 8 or Better.

Concepcion Chips Up

Level 8 : 1,300/2,500, 0 ante

On the three-way turn of {J-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{3-Spades}{7-Diamonds}, Rafael Concepcion in the small blind made it four bets to go all in and Benny Glaser in the big blind, as well as John Hennigan on the button, called. The {4-Diamonds} river brought no action between the two remaining active players and Concepcion said "here we go, nut nut," before tabling his {A-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{8-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} for the nut flush and the nut low.

Hennigan had {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{2-Hearts} for the nut low as well, while Glaser mucked his cards. Concepcion took three quarters of the pot and chipped up considerably.

Carol Fuchs (in the $1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo)
Carol Fuchs (in the $1,500 Omaha Hi-Lo)

In a three-way all-in situation, Eric Kurtzman escaped eliminated when he was all in against Carol Fuchs and Larry Kantor. On a {6-Spades}{7-Hearts}{4-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} board, Fuchs showed {A-Clubs}{8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for a straight and the nut low, Kantor held {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{6-Hearts} and chopped the high with Fuchs, while Kurtzman had {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}{9-Spades}{2-Spades} to chop the low with Fuchs.

In the next hand, another short stack got his final chips in against Fuchs.

Short Stack: {A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}
Carol Fuchs: {K-Spades}{K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{J-Spades}

The board ran out {9-Spades}{5-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and the short stack was eliminated.
