James Chen Gets Three Quarters

Level 5 : 600/1,200, 0 ante

The board was {8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{10-Clubs} and James Chen was first to act against one other player. He checked his option only to meet a bet from his opponent. Chen then raised and his opponent called.

The river was the {K-Spades} and Chen bet. His opponent called. Chen showed {A-Hearts}{8-Spades}{5-Spades}{4-Clubs} for a low and two pair. His opponent could only muster {A-Spades}{9-Hearts}{6-Spades}{4-Diamonds} for the same low and just ace high. Chen took down most of the pot and moved back over the starting stack.

Maria Ho
Maria Ho

From the hijack seat, Maria Ho opened with a raise. Nadya Magnus called from the big blind.

The flop was {Q-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and Magnus checked, then called a bet from Ho.

On the {10-Hearts} turn, Magnus checked again, then called another bet from Ho.

Magnus decided to shift it up and led out on the {A-Diamonds} river, but Ho called quickly. Magnus showed {J-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for the nut low, but Ho was holding {A-Spades}{4-Hearts}{2-Spades}{J-Hearts} for the nut low with a better high hand, so she took down three-quarters of the pot.
