Jacobson Can't Call

Level 5 : 200/400, 400 ante

With around 6,000 in the pot, Martin Jacobson was check-calling a bet of 3,500 on the turn reading {q-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}. He was in the small blind, competing against a player in the hijack. The river came {4-Hearts} and Jacobson, who had only 9,500 left, checked. His opponent shoved and Jacobson instantly threw his cards away.

Ramirez Flops it, Doubles Through Raymer

Level 6 : 300/500, 500 ante

Greg Raymer was on the button and bet 2,500 after it was checked to him on a flop that read {9-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}, Javier Ramirez called.

The turn was the {9-Diamonds}. Ramirez checked again and Raymer bet 5,000 this time, which Ramirez called again after a pause.

The river came the {8-Hearts}. Ramirez checked once more, and Raymer applied maximum pressure by putting in a large stack of 5,000 chips, enough to put Ramirez all in.

Ramirez waited about five seconds before making the call and Raymer turned over the {6-Clubs}{7-Spades} while Ramirez showed the {10-Hearts}{k-Clubs} hammer for the winning hand.

"Easy call" said Raymer as a decent portion of his stack went over to Ramirez.

Benger Gets Small Value from Top Set

Level 6 : 300/500, 500 ante

Griffin Benger was in the small blind, three-betting to 4,800 after a limp from early position and a raise from the button.

Benger found a caller in his neighbor and they checked the {3-Clubs}{k-Spades}{8-Hearts} flop. Benger checked again on the {7-Hearts}, and then he called a 3,000-bet.

The {j-Spades} river filled the flush draw and both players tapped the felt. Benger rolled over {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} for a slowplayed top set and he claimed the pot.

Frank Folds to a Lead

Level 6 : 300/500, 500 ante

Following a 1,000-raise from middle position and a flat from the cutoff, Chris Frank squeezed to 4,000 from the small blind. Only the player in the cutoff called and they went heads up to the {5-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{2-Spades} flop where Frank fired 3,000. He was called again and the turn came {2-Clubs}. Frank faced a bet of 6,600 and he asked his opponent how much did he have.

"Not very much," was the reply as it was only about 12,000 more or so.

Frank decided to let his hand go and his opponent let him peel one of his hole cards. Frank turned up a {10-Spades} and laughed that he should have shoved.
