Zinno Grinding Back Up

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Anthony Zinno was calling down Eli Elezra after defending the bring-in but then picked up four to a straight and came out betting on sixth, despite Elezra having a strong board himself with a pair and three to a straight.

Zinno: {x-}{x-}/{4-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
Elezra: {x-}{x-}/{10-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

Elezra called and faced a final bet on the river. He tanked about 90 seconds and splashed in a call. Zinno showed {j-}{6-}{5-} for the eight-high straight and took the pot.

Another pot for Eli Elezra: He was the bring-in with the {7-Clubs}, Anthony Zinno completed to 20,000 with the {q-Hearts} and Elezra called. On fourth street he raised when Zinno bet again, then called Zinno's bet on fifth.

Zinno: {x-}{x-}/{q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Elezra: {x-}{x-}/{7-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{5-Spades}

Zinno checked, Elezra bet. Zinno called here on sixth street but declined to call the next bet after the river.

Zinno Folds the River

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Anthony Zinno completed with the {6-Spades} and Eli Elezra raised with the {6-Hearts}. Elezra kept the betting lead even as Zinno's board ran out a little more coordinated, albeit smaller, with four to a straight.

Zinno: {x-}{x-}/{6-Spades}{7-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}/{x-}
Elezra: {x-}{x-}/{6-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}/{x-}

Elezra's river bet caused Zinno to tank awhile. The two exchanged some banter and Zinno opted to lay it down. Elezra flashed his cards but we didn't catch them.

Eli Elezra and Anthony Zinno traded a few small pots, then played one all the way to the river. Elezra check-called until the seventh card was dealt, when he led out 40,000.

Zinno: {x-}{x-}/{3-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}/{x-}
Elezra: {x-}{x-}/{q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}/{x-}

Zinno paused to consider, then called and mucked his hand, Elezra showing {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}/{q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for the queen-high straight.

Zinno's Two Pair Good

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Anthony Zinno completed with the {j-Spades} and Eli Elezra defended with {5-Diamonds}. When Elezra picked up an {a-Diamonds} he took over the betting and both players paired on sixth.

Elezra: {x-}{x-}/{5-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}
Zinno: {x-}{x-}/{j-Spades}{5-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}

Zinno called another bet and it went check-check on the end. Zinno announced two pair and showed the {5-Clubs}. Elezra indicated it was good and Zinno moved to muck to end the hand but was reminded he needed to show his other cards. He tossed in {k-}{q-}.

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Valentin Vornicu started his last hand raising with the {8-Diamonds}; Eli Elezra took him on for his tournament life, showing his hand at the start: {k-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{k-Hearts}.

Vornicu's hand ran out {8-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}, with the final card dealt face down.

"I'll look at mine first," said Elezra, squeezing the {6-Diamonds} to add to his kings and the {7-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{x-}

"That's one of my outs," said Vornicu.

Not one of his outs was the {8-Spades} river card, and a handshake later we're heads up.

Elezra Hammers Zinno Down a Bit

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Anthony Zinno completed with the {k-Diamonds}, Eli Elezra raised with the {3-Spades} and Zinno made it three bets. Elezra peeled and paired his door card, which prompted him to come out firing on fourth and fifth.

Zinno: {x-}{x-}/{k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{8-Hearts}
Elezra: {x-}{x-}/{3-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}

Zinno conceded to the big bet.

Vornicu Tank Calls, Gets Bad News from Elezra

Level 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Valentin Vornicu is down to just 45,000 after a big pot against chip leader Eli Elezra.

Vornicu: {x-}{x-}/{7-Clubs}
Elezra: {x-}{x-}/{8-Spades} Elezra bet, Vornicu raised and Elezra called.

Vornicu: {x-}{x-}/{7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}
Elezra: {x-}{x-}/{8-Spades}{4-Clubs} Vornicu bet and was called.

On fifth and sixth streets, Vornicu switched to check-calling Elezra's bets.

Vornicu: {x-}{x-}/{7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts}
Elezra: {x-}{x-}/{8-Spades}{4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

Now facing a final bet from Elezra (about half his remaining chips), Vornicu thought for a while, turning and counting his chips. He threw in the call, but mucked when he saw Elezra's kings up: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}{j-Spades}/{8-Spades}{4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}.
