Blumenfield Loses Big

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante

The pot already contained around 8,000 and the flop showed {j-Clubs}{3-Spades}{10-Diamonds} when Neil Blumenfield bet 3,000 from the button after his opponent checked. The latter made the call.

Things heated on the turn {q-Hearts} as Blumenfield's opponent pushed all in for a stack worth 12,200. Blumenfield took one minute before saying "Ok, let's go!" for the call and both tabled their cards:

Neil Blumenfield: {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
His opponent: {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}

Blumenfield had to hit a straight on the river, facing his opponent's set of jacks, but a {a-Clubs} fell and he was left with a short stack after that hand.

Small Pot to Elpayaa

Level 4 : 100/300, 300 ante
Joseph Elpayaa
Joseph Elpayaa

It folded to the player on the button and he raised to 800. The only player in the blinds that was interested was big blind Joseph Elpayaa. He called and they went heads-up to the flop.

The dealer spread the {8-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop on the board and Elpayaa checked to the initial raiser. He continued with a bet of 600 and Elpayaa went for the check-raise to 2,800.

His opponent got out of the way and Elpayaa took down a pot.

Lybaert Didn't Run Long This Year

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante
Bart Lybaert
Bart Lybaert

Bart Lyabert opened to 600 and James Moutsatsos made the call. The dealer brought {10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} on the flop and Lybaert continued for 1,000, quickly called by Moutsatsos.

The same action happened on the turn {8-Spades}, this time for 4,000.

A {8-Diamonds} fell on the river and Lybaert thought about his move for a minute before pushing all in for a stack around 20,000. Moutsatsos made the call, showing {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs} for a set of sixes, dominating Lybaert's hand with {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts} and eliminating him from the tournament.

Lybaert, who finished third in the Marathon last year for $ 290,315, only played for one level this time.

Miles Makes Rezaei Fold Queens

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante
Tony Miles
Tony Miles

Tony Miles raised to 500 from the button when it folded to him on their six-handed table. There was no small blind and big blind Daniel Rezaei three-bet to 2,500. Miles called.

The flop fell {6-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and Rezaei continued with another bet of 2,100. The call was quickly made by Miles and they saw the {3-Clubs}.

Rezaei slowed down as he checked to the 2018 WSOP Main Event runner-up. Miles took over with a bet of 7,000 and Rezaei called.

The river was the {4-Hearts} which also paired the board and Rezaei checked again. Miles took his time and he eventually counted out a bet of 17,000 that he put in the middle. Rezaei let out a sigh and he started to tank for a couple of minutes. He started talking after a while before he let go of his hand.

Rezaei then announced he folded {q-}{q-}. Miles didn't say a word and just raked in the chips without showing his cards. When he was almost done stacking he laughed and said he had {7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}.

Small Double Up for Griener

Level 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

It folded to the player in the small blind who raised to push Jared Griener all in for his last 2,800 chips and the latter snap-called.

Holding {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}, Griener had the best hand, facing {q-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} for his opponent and doubled up after the board brought {10-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{10-Spades}{4-Spades}{6-Diamonds}.
