New Chip Counts

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

Del Vecchio In and Out

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

Michael Del Vecchio was one of the Day 2 entries and he just recently took his seat on Table 22. Unfortunately for him, a red-hot Daniel Deveau was just a couple of seats away and the two players collided in a big pot.

Del Vecchio opened to 1,200 in the hijack and the button three-bet to 3,500. Deveau splashed in a four-bet to 9,500 and Del Vecchio five-bet jammed all in for around 45,000. The button thought for a minute before folding and Deveau quickly called.

Daniel Deveau: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}
Michael Del Vecchio: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{10-Clubs} and Del Vecchio was sent to the rail not long after sitting in his seat.

Grigorian Sends Rodriguez to the Rail

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

The flop showed {q-Hearts}{2-Spades}{9-Spades} on a three-way pot when Grigorian bet 2,600 and Roberto Rodriguez three-bet. Neil Blumenfield folded and Grigorian moved all-in, putting Rodriguez's tournament at risk. The latter quickly called for the following showdown:

Roberto Rodriguez: {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Chris Grigorian: {q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}

Grigorian, with two pair on the flop, was in good shape to win the pot and bust his opponent, which he did after the rest of the board fell {8-Hearts} and {6-Diamonds}. "Ship it to Armenia," said Grigorian while adding the chips to his stack.

Updated Chip Counts

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

Bicknell Eliminated from the Race

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

Steven Mavrikos limped and Bahar Musa raised it to 1,800, called by Anthony Mender on the button. Kristen Bicknell, situated in the big blind, thought about her move for a minute before pushing her last 5400 chips in the middle. Musa and Mender made the call.

The two remaining active players checked throughout the board {5-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs}{6-Spades}{q-Spades} and the three players tabled their cards.

Holding {q-Hearts}{j-Spades}, Mender had the winning hand with a pair of queens on the river, facing {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} for Musa and {a-Spades}{9-Diamonds} for Bicknell who was eliminated from the event.

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante
Christopher Godfrey
Christopher Godfrey

Christopher Godfrey limped under the gun and Aleksei Istomin raised it to 2,000. It was called by Christopher Frank on the button and Jamie Gold in the big blind before Godfrey announced all in. Aleksei Istomin called with a remaining stack worth 29,000 and both Frank and Gold folded.

Aleksei Istomin: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Christopher Godfrey: {4-Clubs}{4-Spades}

The board first fell {3-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{9-Spades}, giving the flip to Istomin, but a {4-Hearts} fell on the river, giving a set of fours to Godfrey and eliminating Istomin from the tournament.

Action Flop, Action Turn Results in a Xu Double Up

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

There was a massive pot building on Table 299 and Yicheng Xu was heads-up with Marko Maher. The board read {a-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{7-Clubs} and it appeared that both players stuck in around 20,000 chips apiece on the turn.

The river brought the {6-Diamonds} and Xu moved all in for 41,400. Maher quickly called and Xu flipped over {7-Spades}{7-Hearts} for quad sevens. Maher showed his {4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}, revealing he wasn't even drawing dead on the turn.

"That was an action flop," Maher said.

"It was an action turn," Xu replied.

Sylvain Loosli opened to 1,600 from under the gun and was called by Hugo Alfaro in the small blind and Gary Hasson in the big blind. The flop fell {j-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{3-Spades} and the blinds checked to Loosli who continued for 2,500.

Maria Lampropulos
Maria Lampropulos

The board read {7-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} and the pot already contained around 10,000 when Maria Lapropulos checked. Ronni Borg bet 5,600 from the cutoff and Lampropulos three-bet to 18,000. After a minute, Borg opted to call.

The {9-Diamonds} completed the board and Lampropulos tanked for some time and announced all in for 41,000 after the clock has been called, putting Borg into a decision. The latter ended up making the call with {k-Spades}{k-Clubs} but only to see {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} in Lampropulos's hand for the straight.

"Really?" said Borg before conceding the pot to Lampropulos with a smile.

Fast Loses a Small One

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

It folded to Dietrich Fast in the small blind who completed and Jason Wandling checked. The flop {6-Spades}{8-Hearts}{9-Hearts} was checked and Fast check-called a bet for 1,000 on the {4-Spades} turn.

On the river {8-Diamonds}, the same action happened, this time for 3,000 and Fast mucked his cards when Wandling showed {8-Spades}{j-Clubs} for a set of eights.
