Vieira Checks Back Flop

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Joao Vieira raised it up from the hijack and the big blind was his only opponent. The flop came {k-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and both players checked to the {9-Hearts} on the turn.

The big blind tossed in a small bet and Vieira raised to 8,300. His opponent called and the {7-Clubs} completed the board. The action checked to Vieira who sized up another bet of 23,300. His opponent snapped him off and Vieira tabled {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for the best hand.

Guilbert Takes One

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Johan Guilbert started the action in the hijack with a raise to 2,400 and the player in the big blind made the call.

The flop appeared {5-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{10-Spades} and the big blind check-called Guilbert's continuation for 2,100.

On the turn {5-Spades}, the big blind checked once more and after a minute, Guibert made it to 4,100. His opponent quickly folded and Guilbert grabbed the pot.

Busquet Climbing the Leaderboard

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Olivier Busquet opened to 2,200 in early position and was called by the next two players to act. The cutoff stuck in a three-bet to 12,000 and only Busquet called to go heads-up to a flop of {q-Hearts}{8-Spades}{3-Hearts}.

Both players checked and the {j-Clubs} landed on the turn. Busquet led out for 9,000 and his opponent called to see the {j-Spades} on the river. Busquet counted out another bet of 36,500 and this time his opponent folded.

Poling Chipping Up

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

The player under the gun opened to 2,100 and Jesse Cohen, in the hijack, raised it to 8,000. Scott Poling called from the cutoff and so did the initial raiser.

After two checks on a flop of {a-Hearts}{8-Spades}{a-Diamonds}, Poling bet 8,500 and his two opponents called.

The turn fell a {q-Clubs} and Poling continued, this time for 22,000 after his opponents checked once more. Both folded and Poling took down the pot.

Jacobson Binks the River

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Martin Jacobson
Martin Jacobson

There was a raise to 2,200 from the under-the-gun player and a call from a player in the hijack. Martin Jacobson was on the button and announced all in before using both hands to slide his 18,300 chips into the middle. The initial raiser flicked in a call and they were left heads-up.

Martin Jacobson: {q-Spades}{j-Spades}
Opponent: {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

The flop came {8-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and Jacobson missed one player at the table mentioning that they folded queen-jack. It didn't matter though, as the {3-Spades} on the turn and the {j-Diamonds} on the river gave Jacobson the best hand with a pair of jacks in order to double up.

Borg Sends Lampropulos to the Tank

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

There was a raise to 2,000 and Maria Lampropulos called from the cutoff. Ronni Borg re-raised to 8,000 on the button and the initial raiser folded while Lampropulos called. The flop fell {q-Clubs}{8-Spades}{3-Spades} and Lampropulos check-called a bet of 7,200 from Borg.

The turn brought the {10-Hearts} and both players checked to the {3-Diamonds} on the river. Lampropulos checked for the third time and Borg dropped in a bet of 32,000. Lampropulos went into the tank for what seemed like five minutes before finally folding.

"Look at how long these levels are," one player at the table said. "We play one hand and the level goes up."
