Full House for Kiriopoulos

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Three players saw a flop of {k-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and Niall Farrell began with a check from the big blind. The hijack also checked and Demosthenes Kiriopoulos tossed in a bet of 4,000 on the button. Farrell instantly folded and the hijack check-raised to 13,300. Kiriopoulos called and the {k-Spades} paired the board on the turn.

Both players checked and the {10-Diamonds} double-paired the board on the river. The hijack checked again and Kiriopoulos dropped in a bet of 35,000. His opponent thought briefly before making the call. Kiriopoulos turned over {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} for a full house and was able to scoop the pot.

Alex Keating

The board showed {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{2-Hearts} when Alex Keating bet 12,000 after two players checked and only the player in the big blind called.

The river was the {2-Spades} and the action went check-check and Keating discovered {q-Spades}{j-Clubs} in his opponent's hand for a flopped full house and sent his cards into the muck.

The big blind checked again and Charania tossed in a bet of 2,200. The button called and the big blind got out of the way. The river was the {6-Diamonds} and Charania made another small bet of 4,500. His opponent quickly called and Charania tabled {a-Hearts}{q-Spades} for the best hand.

Dong Way Ahead of the Field

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Thus far, Day 2 in The Marathon has solely belonged to Yu Dong who has built up a massive stack compared to the rest of the field. Dong just recently eliminated a couple of players at his table and has stacks upon stacks of chips in front of him.

He is showing no signs of slowing down as he continues to apply pressure to his opponents. There was a raise to 2,500 from middle position and Dong three-bet to 8,500 in the small blind. His opponent called and the two players saw a flop of {a-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{8-Clubs}.

Dong led out for 6,500 and his opponent still called to see the {6-Diamonds} on the turn. Dong splashed in another bet of 18,000 this time which prompted a quick fold from his opponent.

Kenny Hallaert
Kenny Hallaert

The player in the cutoff opened and Kenny Hallaert made the call from the big blind. Both players checked throughout the board {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}{q-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}.

On the river {7-Hearts}, Hallaert bet 2,000 and his opponent re-raised to 8,000. Hallaert thought about his move for a minute and pushed all in, putting his opponent's tournament at risk. The latter quickly called, showing {8-Hearts}{10-Hearts}, only to see {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts} in Hallaert's hand for the nut flush and was eliminated.

Hallaert, who final tabled the Main Event in 2016, now has a stack above 200,000 chips.

Farrell Bluffs It Off

Level 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

"Let's go Firaldo!" a bystander shouted throughout the Pavillion room as he strolled by Niall Farrell's table. Farrell was quietly going about his business on Day 2 but that might have just woke him up to bluff his chips away moments later.

With the board reading {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{7-Spades}, Farrell tossed in a bet of 13,200 from the small blind into a pot of around 15,000. His opponent called on the button and the {2-Clubs} completed the board.

Farrell thought for a minute before shoving all in for 27,100. His opponent quickly called and Farrell stood up from his seat as he tabled {q-Spades}{j-Clubs}. His opponent revealed {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs} and Farrell was eliminated from the tournament.
