Pham Doubles Through Timofeev on the Bubble

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Denis Timofeev raised to 6,500 from the late position and Christian Pham shoved for 43,500 from the hijack. Action folded back to Timofeev who made the call. Once all the action on the other tables was completed, the cards could go on their backs.

Christian Pham: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}
Denis Timofeev: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}

The board ran out {7-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{j-Hearts} for Pham's aces to hold and double him up during the first round of hand-for-hand play.

Li Eliminated to Bring the Tournament Hand-for-Hand

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Vincent Li was just seen walking away from his seat and the tournament clock has been paused. The tournament will now be hand-for-hand on the money bubble with two minutes coming off of the clock after every hand.

Lescot Doubles Again

Level 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Eric Lescot moved all in for 32,000 in middle position just moments after doubling up. Natalie Teh called from the small blind and the two players were off to the races.

Eric Lescot: {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}
Natalie Teh: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}

The flop came {5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} which left Teh in the lead and Lescot was in danger of being eliminated near the bubble. The {6-Hearts} on the turn was also of no help but the {a-Diamonds} on the river was exactly what he was looking for.

"Are you Barry Greenstein?" one player asked. "Always an ace on the river."

Denis Timofeev: {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}

The board ran out {q-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} for Timofeev to make two pair on the turn to eliminate Raman before the bubble.

Eliminated Before the Bubble

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante

Lots of Chips on Table 606

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante

Table 606 began the day with a few of the big stacks and it appears the stacks are continuing to grow with monster pots consistently being played. Uri Reichenstein has been pushing most of the action and he got it started again with a raise to 5,500. Jeffrey Chung called on his left and Anatoly Filatov three-bet to 23,500 next to act.

The action folded back to Reichenstein who counted out what looked to be a four-bet to 68,000. Chung mulled it over but decided to fold while Filatov instantly mucked his cards as well.

In the next hand, there was a raise to 5,500 from under the gun and both Reichenstein and David Coleman in the big blind called. The flop fell {j-Hearts}{9-Spades}{5-Diamonds} and the action checked around to the {4-Spades} on the turn. The action checked to Reichenstein this time who tossed in a bet of 7,500 and both of his opponents folded.

Berkey Flops a Set

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante
Matt Berkey
Matt Berkey

Johan Guilbert raised to 5,200 from under the gun, Ioannis Angelou-Konstas called in mid-position and so did Matt Berkey in the cutoff. Yicheng Xu three-bet to 26,000 from the button and only Berkey made the call in the end.

They both checked through the {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop to the {7-Hearts} on the turn. Berkey bet 40,000 and Xu called.

The river completed the board with the {10-Spades} and they both checked for Berkey to claim the pot with {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} with the flopped set of nines.

Rollercoaster Ride for Cheung

Level 13 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante

Sparrow Cheung opened to 5,000 in middle position and Arkadi Onikoul three-bet to 15,500 in the cutoff. Denis Timofeev flat-called on the button and the action was back on Cheung. He four-bet jammed all in for 102,500 and Onikoul gave it some thought but folded. Timofeev also took a moment and he decided to call.

Sparrow Cheung: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Denis Timofeev: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

The flop came {k-Spades}{10-Spades}{9-Hearts} to give Timofeef the best hand with a set of tens. The {3-Hearts} on the turn changed nothing but the {j-Spades} on the river gave Cheung a straight in order to double up.
