More Players Top the Million Mark

Level 18 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Ben Dobson and Ioannis Angelou Konstas are sat next to each other on Table 182 (Angelou Konstas in position) forming a wall of chips for the rest of their table to navigate past every hand. It looks like the two of them are having a bit of rivalrous banter: while Dobson's stack was being counted he pointed at Angelou Konstas and said, "It's his stack you should be counting."

There was speculation that Konstas might be in the chip lead and when it was discovered that this was not the case, Konstas quipped, "Come back in half an hour. I'll have his chips," nodding at Dobson.

Meng Out-Flips Roe To Stay in the Tournament

Level 18 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Michael Roe
Michael Roe

Under the gun Junxing Meng moved all in for 257,000. It folded to mid-position Michael Roe who called swiftly. The rest of their table got out of the way just as swiftly, and a pair-v-overs situation was revealed:

Roe: {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Meng: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

The {8-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop was ace-free, but the turn was the {a-Diamonds} and the river the {8-Diamonds} securing Meng a double through. Roe's stack had, according to tablemates, been on the rise in the recent past, and this dent set him back a ways. Meng said that "you need luck [in tournaments] - just make the right decision."

Last Break of Day 2c

Level 18 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Big 50
Big 50

Players are heading off on the final 20-minute break of the day. On their return, they'll play two more levels, and survivors will move on to Day 3, Wednesday, June 5, at 11am.

Level: 19

Blinds: 10,000/20,000

Ante: 20,000

Final Two Levels of the Day

Level 19 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

The remaining 582 players have returned from the last break of the day.

There are just two more scheduled levels before play concludes, and those lucky (and skilled) enough to still be seated will bag and tag and return on Wednesday.

Big Stacks from High Numbered Tables

Level 19 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Half of the room counted, it looks like a stack of 2.5 million is the one to beat. A table move saw Cat Valdes take a seat to the right of Saya Ono (who survived an all-in on the bubble earlier to start a healthy Day 2 stack), taking the table leader position from her. Valdes still said she was reluctant to tangle with her, although there are still nearly two levels left to play.

Ari Engel Gets Four-flushed

Level 19 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

On a board reading {3-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{10-Spades}{7-Clubs}, Tim Carter, in seat 4, and Ari Engel, right next to him in seat 5, are both all in, with Carter at risk.

Engel: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}
Carter: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

It looked to be a chopped pot until the dealer fanned the {q-Clubs} on the river and sent the huge pot to Carter, which left Engel with just 140,000.

A player at the tabled relayed that Carter went all in on the flop and Engel called.

Same Hand, Better Result for Engel

Level 19 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Less than ten minutes after losing a huge pot with kings versus kings, Ari Engel found himself all in.

After the under-the-gun player raised to 50,000, Engel three-bet shoved his remaining stack.

The next player to act made the call and the original raiser folded.

The players tabled their hands, and Engel had two kings again, but they were way ahead of the other player's pocket fours.

Engel: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Seat 6: {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}

The board ran out {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}, which secured the double-up for Engel.

More Counts from Level 19

Level 19 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Ben Dobson rose to his current stack eliminating a player by spiking his underpair: under-the-gun, a player limped in for 20,000 and Dobson raised in late position (between 50,000 and 60,000).

He was called by neighbor Ioannis Angelou Konstas and then raised all-in (for 245,000) when it got back to the original under-the-gun limper.

Dobson thought for a while before calling with {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} while Angelou Konstas folded; his opponent held {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}. Straight away the flop brought Dobson a full house: {10-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{8-Spades} and there was no queen on the turn or river.
