Fontaine Shows the Ace

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Jean Fontaine, after his potentially tournament-ending but ultimately profitable bluff earlier today, has steadily amassed chips, his laconic demeanour belying his move-making and table-needling capabilities.

Just now he called an under the gun raise from Scott Mahin (to 115,000) on the button to see a {q-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{8-Diamonds} flop. Mahin checked, Fontaine threw in a bet of 245,000 and got a fold. He showed his opponent the {a-Hearts}.

Jamasi Near 10 million

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Farhad Jamasi
Farhad Jamasi

Todd Keikoan, from the button, checked to Farhad Jamasi on the cutoff with the board showing {q-Spades}{5-Spades}{10-Hearts}{k-Spades}. Jamasi put in a 200,000-chip bet, and Keikoan made the call.

The river came the {4-Diamonds}, Keikoan checked and Jamasi bet again, this time for 500,000. Keikoan thought about it for a minute and made the call, but mucked his hand when Jamasi showed the {a-Spades}{j-Hearts} for the turned broadway straight.

Jamasi has been steamrolling through Day 3, and he's now up to 9,570,000 in chips.

Level 26 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Mike Lisanti is playing a stack over 3,000,000 as the second half of Level 26 plays down, but he wasn't always so chip affluent. He was on the right side of a big preflop all-in match-up, aces vs. jacks, in the last level for 1,400,000 and from there has risen into the top ten in the counts.

Charles Moore, better known as Woody, is in the thick of the table banter, sat between Layne Flack and Samir Husaynue on a table that seems to have a fairly high turnover.

Esposito, Ramdin Renew Rivalry

Level 25 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

WSOP bracelet winner John Esposito and WPT champion Victor Ramdin are in a dead heat, each with 1.2 million chips. Esposito stood up to report to PokerNews about an earlier hand that saw Esposito take some of Ramdin's stack with a gutshot straight.

Ramdin heard this going on from the next table and was having none of it, telling Esposito to sit back down and pay attention to his hand. This friendly banter fits right in with the overall feel of this event on Day 3, with plenty of good-natured needling going on between players at the remaining tables.
