Spotted early on Day 1 was Barry Greenstein. Greenstein, the owner of three WSOP bracelets, is also well-known in the poker community for his book titled "Ace on the River," which he's famously given free copies of to players that have eliminated him from tournaments.

Greenstein is known as "The Robin Hood of Poker" due to him using the net proceeds from his tournament winnings and donating to various charities.

Event 37: $800 No-Limit Hold'em Deepstack Ready to Make its Debut!

The poker world watches as another 2019 WSOP event begins

It’s time for Day 1 of Event 37: $800 No-Limit Hold’em Deepstack of the 2019 World Series of Poker, and for the first time, this event will begin at 11 a.m. local time on Sunday June 16.

Levels for this tournament will be swiftly moving at 40 minutes for the first two days of play. Day 1 will play 15 levels with a 15-minute break following every three levels, which will be every two hours of play and with a 75-minute dinner break following level 12. Players will receive a generous amount of 40,000 starting chips and are allowed one re-entry should they bust out before registration closes up until the start of level 13.

Several prominent players and WSOP dreamers alike are expected to register and participate in this new exciting event. The players who remain at the end of play today will return on Monday June 17 at noon local time to battle for a spot at the final table.
