Captain Franklin Doubles Up

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

A player in middle position moved all in for 60,000 and it folded to Tom Franklin in the big blind.

"The first one's a good one," he said peeling the cards one by one. "One more good one...."

He peeled the second one then turned over {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades} and was ahead of his opponent's {4-Spades}{4-Diamonds}

The board came {3-Spades}{6-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{9-Spades} and after a short count, Franklin doubled leaving his opponent with less than 10,000 in chips.

"I left you enough for a story," said Franklin.

More for Shahade

Chin Eliminates Opponent

Level 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Joe Chin opened from early position with a raise to 17,000 and action folded around to the small blind player who moved all in for 43,700. The big blind folded and Chin thought for a minute before telling his opponent, "lets gamble".

Joe Chin: {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}
Opponent: {q-Diamonds}{j-Spades}

Chin was ahead but didn't like that his opponent had live cards and with reason, as his opponent hit his queen on the {7-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{q-Clubs} flop.

Luckily for Chin, he still had overs and hit his ace on the {a-Spades} turn.

His opponent called for a ten on the river and the dealer indeed put the {10-Spades} on the board but unfortunately for him, the ten did not help his hand, and he was eliminated from the tournament.
