The Rich Get Richer; Geilich Busts Morgenstern and Nagy

Level 15 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante
Ludovic Geilich
Ludovic Geilich

On a three-way flop of {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{5-Hearts}, Gergo Nagy and Anton Morgenstern ended up all in and Ludovic Geilich quickly called to put two players at risk.

Anton Morgenstern: {5-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}
Gergo Nagy: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{2-Clubs}
Ludovic Geilich: {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}

Morgenstern saw his hopes reduced to running fours for quads, while Nagy needed a queen or ace in order to remain in contention. Nothing changed with the {8-Clubs} turn and the {7-Diamonds} river only improved Geilich to an even better full house.

"The rich get richer" followed in table chat, as the Scotsman vaulted into the top spot.

The turn {j-Spades} improved Martini to a straight and the river was the {k-Diamonds} and Martin doubled up.

Start-of-Day Chip Leader Lehr Eliminated

Level 15 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

Keith Lehr came into the day with almost 700,000 but things haven't gone his way all day and he was just eliminated from the tournament by Stephen Chidwick.

According to Chidwick, Lehr had "Kings with something," and Lehr had "Aces with something," with the former failing to catch up and overtake the Brit.

Bujtas More Than Doubles

Level 15 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante

The pocket aces of Demis Hassabis were already mucked while the dealer counted the stack of Laszlo Bujtas, who had doubled through Pakinai Lisawad for 178,000.

"Four aces and of course you win with kings," someone at the table joked and Bujtas was all smiles with his {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{5-Spades}, as he had cracked not one but both pairs of aces. Lisawad had the {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{q-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and saw the board run out {j-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{5-Clubs}{6-Spades} to give Bujtas a winning flush.

Krentzman Leads on Second Break

Level 14 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

There are 113 players remaining after four levels of play and Evan Krentzman is the current chip leader on around 1.6 million in chips.

Krentzman was kind enough to provide the details of a big clash with Noah Schwartz, in which he flopped a set of queens with {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} in a multi-way three-bet pot. Schwartz got it in with {a-}{k-}{k-}{x-} and two spades on a {q-Spades}{j-}{5-Spades} flop and Krentzman turned a five for a full house, no king made an appearance on the river.

Baumstein Doubles

Level 14 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Mike Krasienko took a big hit when Wasim Korkis doubled through him and soon after another all in showdown took place on the same table.

Scott Baumstein raised the pot from the button and called the three-bet to 63,000 by the small blind. On a {a-Clubs}{6-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop, the small blind bet 75,000 and Baumstein called all in for 39,500 with {a-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{4-Spades} for two pair and back door diamonds. The small blind tabled {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and the {8-Diamonds} turn and {j-Diamonds} river kept Baumstein in the lead.

Palarino Doubles to Leave O'Donnell Short

Level 14 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Matt O'Donnell slammed the table as the river card was dealt in a pre-flop all-in between him and Jeffrey Palarino.

O'Donnell held {k-}{k-}{a-}{j-} against the {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{10-Spades} of Palarino.

The board had come {9-Hearts}{a-Spades}{8-Clubs}{6-Spades}{q-Diamonds} with Palarino rivering a set to double his 201,500 stack. After a quick count O'Donnell was left with around four big blinds.

Kenney Chips Up

Level 14 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

After the departure of Alexey Makarov, another big stack arrived over on table 427 in John Riordan.

Just before Riordan sat down, Bryn Kenney took down a pot against Lautaro Guerra when they checked through the {k-Spades}{j-Clubs}{9-Spades}{q-Hearts}{8-Hearts} river. Kenney turned over {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} for two pair and Guerra mucked a busted flush draw.

One hand later, Dario Sammartino raised to 15,000 and Micah Smith called. Guerra reraised the pot to 69,000 and that forced everyone out.
