Sammartino Forces Out Makarov

Level 11 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

A big pot was in progress between Dario Sammartino and Alexey Makarov with already over 200,000 chips in the middle.

The board read {2-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} and Sammartino, who was initially under the gun, bet 195,000. Makarov, who was on the button, tanked and asked how much the Italian had behind.

Eventually, Makarov mucked, with Sammartino moving up as a contender for the chip leader.
