Day 1 of Event #49: $10,000 Limit 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw Championship has concluded with 32 players of the 92 starters advancing to Day 2.

Bagging a solid chip lead was Johannes Becker, leading the field with 526,500. Rounding out the top five are Benny Glaser (396,500), Luke Schwartz (321,500), Mark Gregorich (275,000) and Daniel Ospina (258,500). When the chip leader bags more than double that of fifth in chips in a limit tournament, you know it was an excellent day. Becker was in his seat from the moment cards were in the air and he immediately chipped up, holding a place near the top of the chip counts for the majority of Day 1 before running away with the lead in the last two levels.

Among the many big names who bagged include bracelet winners Rep Porter (216,500), Calvin Anderson (208,000), Brian Hastings (191,000), Hanh Tran (172,000), $1,500 2-7 champion Robert Campbell (161,000), Marco Johnson (157,500), Brian Yoon (152,000), David "ODB" Baker (132,500), Mike Matusow (97,000), David Bach (66,000) and Jeremy Ausmus (20,000).

Among those who didn't find a bag for Day 2 include Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreanu, Anthony Zinno, James Obst, Phillip Hui, Greg Mueller, Daniel Zack, Scott Clements, Greg Mueller and defending champion Nicholas Seiken.

Registration remains open until the cards are back in the air for Day 2 on Friday at 2 p.m., when limits of 4,000/8,000 will kick off the action. As always, PokerNews will be back to provide live updates throughout the day.
