Jamasi Takes On Astedt

Level 3 : 200/300, 0 ante

Farhad Jamasi raised to 800 from under the gun, and Swedish online phenom Niklas "lena900" Astedt three-bet to 2,400 in middle position. Jamasi made the call.

The {j-Clubs}{4-Spades}{q-Hearts} flop was checked by Jamasi, and Astedt continued for 3,500. Jamasi called.

The {10-Clubs} fell on the turn, and Jamasi asked the dealer, "How much is in the pot?" After getting confirmation that it was 12,700, Jamasi bet 11,000. Astedt didn't take long to fold, and Jamasi shipped the pot.

Small Pot for Cheong

Joseph Cheong
Joseph Cheong

A player raised to 700 from the hijack and Jesse Sylvia called from the cutoff. Button Joseph Cheong decided to stick around with a call but both of the players in the blinds got out of the way.

The flop fell {9-Spades}{8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and the initial raiser continued with a bet of 1,400. Sylvia got out of the way but recent bracelet winner Cheong called again.

The {6-Diamonds} came down on the river and it checked to Cheong. He took over the betting with a bet of 4,500 and he was called. The {j-Diamonds} completed the board and Cheong's opponent check-folded to a bet of 6,500.

Porter Rips It In

Level 3 : 200/300, 0 ante

Three-time WSOP bracelet winner Rep Porter checked a {2-Clubs}{3-Spades}{6-Spades}{q-Diamonds} board from the big blind, and a player in middle position checked as well. The button bet 5,000 into a pot of around 7,000, and Porter woke up with a check-raise to 23,000, which chased out the middle position player. The button tanked for a minute before making the call.

The {10-Diamonds} completed the board on the river, and Porter jammed for his last 32,000. His opponent didn't take long to release his hand, and Porter took down the pot.

Van Hoof Wins One Big Blind

Level 3 : 200/300, 0 ante

It folded all the way around to Jorryt van Hoof in the small blind and he decided to limp. He put an extra 100 with his small blind and the player in the big blind checked his option.

The flop fell {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}{5-Spades} and Van Hoof bet 400. That was enough to make his opponent fold and Van Hoof picked up the pot.

Van Hoof finished third in the 2014 World Series of Poker Main Event for roughly $3,8 million and that is the closest the Dutchman has ever been to winning a bracelet. He would be the seventh player from the Netherlands who would win one.

Mizrachi Bets Big

Level 3 : 200/300, 0 ante

Four-time WSOP bracelet winner Robert Mizrachi checked a {8-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{j-Spades}{7-Spades} board from middle position, and the button bet 8,400 into a similarly sized pot. Mizrachi called.

The {k-Hearts} fell on the river, and Mizrachi quickly tossed 26,000 in the pot, sending his opponent into the tank. After about three minutes, Mizrachi's opponent reluctantly slid his cards to the dealer, and Mizrachi raked in the pot.
